Spring Game for a Cause. . .
Wyoming's football team closes out its spring training on Saturday with the annual Brown and Gold Spring Game beginning at 2 p.m. at War Memorial Stadium. It should be quite a day with several activities scheduled in conjunction with the game. The entire Cowboy team will be on Jonah Field at 11:30 a.m. to interact with youth eighth grade and under as part of the Football Fun Day activity. It should be a great time for both Cowboy players and the kids while at the same time serving as a fundraiser to help defray travel costs for the Wyoming In Haiti trip which will take place May 7-13. A group of 25 UW student-athletes and coaches will travel to Haiti to help Haitian youth at that time. Donations also will be accepted at the Spring Game. Following the Fun Day, UW Concessions will be selling food in the south end zone area so that families may stay and have lunch prior to the game. The Brown 'N Gold Outlet will be selling Wyoming In Haiti t-shirts at $15 ($10 of which will go toward cost of the trip). Parents must sign a waiver for their children to participate in the Fun Day. The waiver may be completed on the day of the event, or parents may go online here.

Coming Back to the U. . .
Nearly 70 Cowboy football lettermen have registered for Saturday's alumni gathering prior to and during the Brown and Gold Spring Game. The former Pokes will get together in the Wildcatter Stadium Club at noon prior to the 2 p.m. kickoff. We can only imagine how much fun that will be for everyone involved. Dave Christensen and his football staff will meet with the group prior to the game.

What an Honor. . .
Congratulations to Wyoming's four football captains who were selected this week for the 2012 season. The four are senior linebacker Korey Jones, and senior safety Luke Ruff on defense; senior center Nick Carlson and sophomore quarterback Brett Smith on offense. The captains are selected by the football coaching staff.

Renewal Deadline Nears. . .
If you haven't renewed your season football tickets yet, the deadline to do so is April 30.

If you are thinking about purchasing season tickets for the first time, the Wyoming sales staff will be on hand at the Spring Game to answer any questions you may have. New season tickets are $195 for Wyoming's six-game home schedule. Tickets also may be purchased online here.

Cowboy Joe Club News. . .
Three county fund drives are coming to a close this month, and one will begin. Goshen County will have its recap on April 18 while Platte's drive ends on the 19th. The wrap up for Sweetwater County is scheduled for April 26. Sheridan County begins its fund drive next Monday, April 23.

Around the Chutes. . .
The Cowgirl golf team is competing at the Mountain West Conference Championships this weekend at Phoenix.

Outdoor track will be competing on two fronts. On Friday and Saturday, part of the team will be competing at the Mt. SAC Relays at Walnut, CA. Another group will travel to Louisiana for the LSU Alumni Gold meet at Baton Rouge, LA.

The Cowgirl tennis team, which has posted an excellent spring, will continue Mountain West action on Saturday when it takes on Air Force at Colorado Springs. The Cowgirls will be in San Diego on April 26-29 for the Mountain West Championships.
