Cowboy senior swimmer Brandon Fischer will be a busy man this week at the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships beginning tomorrow in Seattle. The native of Livermore, CA will swim in three events during the championships, the 100 and 200 breaststrokes and the 200 individual medley. His first event tomorrow will be the individual medley. He will race in the 100 breaststroke on Friday and the 200 breaststroke on Saturday. He has the 16th best time in the country in that event.
What a Career for Kelsey. . .
While on the subject of swimming, how about Cowgirl senior Kelsey Conci! She capped off a tremendous career at Wyoming by earning her second-straight Honorable Mention All-America honor last week at the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. She swam in three events, the 50 and 100 free and the 100 backstroke. In the backstroke, she earned first in the consolation final with a time of 52.12, the fastest in the Mountain West, and in Wyoming school history. She is the first-ever Cowgirl to earn consecutive Honorable Mention All-American honors.
A Wyoming Welcome to Matt Fannon. . .
Pete Cuadrado has completed his coaching staff for Cowgirl soccer by adding Matt Fannon. Fannon, a native of York, England comes to Wyoming after spending two seasons as an assistant men's coach at Regis University in Denver. He graduated and played collegiately at Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, W.Va. He has coached and played at a very high level.

A new era in football camps as we know begins in June and will be coming to a city near you. Six football day camps for youth K-12 begin June 5, and continue through June 11.
The tour will include stops at Laramie, Cheyenne, Sheridan, Gillette, Casper and Rock Springs. Cost is $55 for pre-registration (prior to May 15) and $65 day of event. Cost will include lunch, camp t-shirt and football instruction from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. You may register online at coachchristensen.com. For questions call 307-766-3155. Cowboy Joe Club News. . .
Now that the basketball season has been completed, the Club would like to thank all of those individuals and companies who donated to the pre-game events, as well as everyone who attended. The pre-game functions during the men's and women's basketball seasons are extremely popular.
The next two fund drives for the Club will come in mid-April at Platte and Sweetwater counties. We'll keep you posted on those two events.
News from the Ticket Office...
Paper renewals for football season tickets went out in the mail on Tuesday so check your mailbox. Included is a special letter from Cowboy quarterback Brett Smith. If you have already paid online you will still receive the paper renewal, disregard or keep for your records.
Season tickets in great locations are on sale now. Cost is $195 for new season ticket holder. Also the Family Plan is a great deal, only $500 for two adult and two youth tickets.
Around the Chutes. . .
A busy week is on tap for Wyoming's springtime sports. The men's and women's golf teams are both in action this week. The Cowboys travel to Goodyear, AZ to compete in the University of Denver Desert Shootout, Thursday through Saturday. The women compete at Tucson, in the Mountain View Collegiate Friday and Saturday.
The tennis team travels to San Diego this week for a couple of meets. On Saturday the Cowgirls take on UNLV, then on Sunday battle San Diego State. Both matches begin at 11 a.m. MT.
How about Joe LeBlanc? With another excellent performance, the Cowboy senior earned his fourth All-American honor at this year's NCAA Championships. The man who has won more matches than any wrestler in Cowboy history, also became UW's only four-time All-American. Also congrats to Alfonso Hernandez, the Pokes' redshirt junior, who earned All-American honors as well.
Congratulations to Cowboy hoopster Leonard Washington who was named to the All-Disctrict 17 Second team by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
