I'm stoked about DC calling the plays.
Leave it to Beaver says: we are going to beat Nebraska this season and win the MWC.
The frustrated fan in all of us ready for something big to happen wants us to beat Nebraska and win the MWC.

I hope this up tempo stuff is for real and the Pokes are gonna throw it down field a lot.
If we can burn Nebraska like we did Texas last season with the long ball we will have a chance, but for us to win, we need to have a decent run game and be able to have success with short passes.
Sick of the 80 yard TD pass then four or five 3 and outs. It would be nice to see the Pokes move it down field play after play.

Beaver, you realize defense is a part of football, right? Most of the time the reason Wyoming is losing has nothing to do with the offense, but more that Wyoming can't stop anyone (ranked in the 100s again last season).

Anything can happen, but this year.....as long as UW doesn't lose to Idaho, Northern Colorado, or Texas State, a bowl game should be close to doable. Nebraska is expected to hammer UW, rightfully so. Its the games after NU that will be crucial. Wyoming dropped those two home games after Texas (Toledo/Cal Poly) and it prevented a bowl berth. Can't have that again.

I don't give a shit if Nebraska is supposed to hammer us. It's about damn time we prove everyone wrong and get this team to winning. I know we are all sick of being the laughing stock of college sports. We are going to win dammit

That's what I am saying.

Yes J-Rod I know that defense is a part of football but but if the score is 70-69 then we still win.
I know we need to improve our D, but if our offense is so high powered it puts people into holes then we can win a lot of games that way.

I really don't think we upset Nebraska in a 10-7 type game, or even a 24-21, it is gonna have to be with our offense responding to what ever Nebraskas offense does. If we win it is gonna be a 35-31 type game.

I guess that's where we will have to agree to disagree.....Wyoming has a good offense, but high-powered? The running game was well below average last season (talking RBs, excluding Smith's abilities) and the O-Line was poor at times. The WRs are GOOD....but not necessarily great. I keep saying Beaver, they scored 30+ points 3 times the entire season....that is not high-powered. They won't be scoring 50-60 points on everyone next season.

And for the record, I think the defense will improve next season. I like Olive/Boyland in the middle......but I'm not sold that next years offense will be unstoppable by any stretch.

I think our offense takes off. Not the Mizzou type offense that DC ran, but I think 30 a game should be very do able for this team, especially if they figure our the 2nd half.
The D, has some players that should make it good, but who knows.
Hali'api'api and olive, and yarbrough, and blair and burns.....
All those guys can play, but will it be a good D?
I hope so.

As long as we beat Fort Fart and embarrass Hawaii, I'm happy. :D

Both should be wins, possibly by significant margins. But again, that could have been said for many games UW last season (Cal Poly, Idaho, etc.)

I really REALLY want to drive a bunch of friends of mine in Hawaii crazy with a blowout. And one that just moved to California.

True, I want a big 10 win season and a MWC title, but I would still love another year of beating CSU.
Funny, DCs 2 worst years here, the 3-9 and 4-8 seasons....CSU had the same record, but in the end we beat them!
Yeah! 4 straight boots! Gonna make it 5.
Has anyone in this series ever won 10 straight?

Yep. Wyoming did it from 1956-65.

I feel the same way. No reason why we shouldn't be able to compete and win. Its about time, we are definitely overdue.

Spring football began this morning bright and early at 5:30 (lifting session) Meetings all day today and then tomorrow on the field! Lets go Pokes, I for one will be the scrimmages. Hope to see you all there.

Hell yeah! I am stoked!

I wanna see the offense take big steps forward! I don't want the occasional game over 30, I wanna be putting up tons and tons of points.
Hope the D line is getting better. Losing Purcell is gonna suck, but we have got some big guys that should be able to play.

No big mystery here, the season hinges on the defense. The offense should be able to hold it's own, but if the defense improves, it will be more of the same. Although, let's face it, I don't possibly see how the defense couldn't be better.

I'd be happy if the offense kept their foot on the gas.. how many games last year could we have won had we just kept the foot on the accelerator, regardless of what the defense did. Nevada and SDSU would have been victories.

Dont remind me of the Nevada cluster Fu€k. The AF game pissed me off the most. Total domination for 3 qtrs. Then pull the plug. I dont know about the SDSU game though. They ran over us, around us and every other imaginable way , then they play actioned the crap out of the D. That $hit has to stop. We have to commit on stopping the run, Otherwise the Huskers are gonna run hog wild on us.

Slightly better D could give our O one or two more possessions per game. That's huge. That's the same reason why we are 6-8 win team when we have a favorable TO margin. The D doesn't even have to be great. Just can't blow against the run.
