Sounds like somebody else is taking a shot - Eastern Michigan is in the Mid-American conference, gets snow, lives in the shadow of bigger programs, and this guy has the nerve to say you can still win! :?
"Colorado State-Pueblo head coach John Wristen has been in contact with Lyke and also representatives from the search firm, most recently on Sunday. Wristen was an assistant at Northwestern under Gary Barnett, then moved on to UCLA, where he was the tight ends and special teams coordinator before building Pueblo's Division II program from the ground up.
"They dropped the program in 1984, then hired me in July of 2007 to start the program back up," Wristen said. "Our first season was in 2008."
Wristen turned the program into a power in his fourth year, leading Pueblo into the NCAA Division II playoffs as the No. 1 team in the nation in 2011 and 2012. This season, Pueblo had an 11-0 record before a second-round playoff loss to Grand Valley this past Saturday.
"I'd love to interview for the position and see what they have to say," Wristen said. "I'm a competitive guy and yes, I do believe you can win there."
