So who is ready....

For some Cowboys Basketball? After the Football debacle I can't wait for the season to start. Already excited about the CU-Colorado Springs Exh game!

Should be lots of fun. Shyatt has something to prove and gets a MWC slate loaded with inexperienced teams. Now is the time to pounce.

I'm ready and excited. By chance did anyone here how the team scrimmaged against Utah last Saturday went? I know the players and coaches aren't supposed to talk about it but maybe one of the students talked to a player and heard something.

I am looking forward to the season - both men's and women's.

I think the men are the most athletic they have been in quite some time, and I like that "above the rim" kind of basketball. I don't dig the slowdown soccer flop style - but you gotta coach what you have!

I understand that this year they are picking up the pace a bit. Guess we will have to wait and see.

I am trying to manage my expectations. The kick in the balls that was football leaves me only one nut left to sacrifice.

That (kick in the balls) isn't over yet. By the time it is, you will be sterile.

I am way excited. I really hope the Pokes beat CU again.
Read on Twitter that CU got whipped against Boise in an closed-door scrimmage. Expected to be ranked though.

Good. Back to back years we beat them when ranked.
I love how their fans talk down on us and that game and say things like "Oh it's just Wyoming, that's a win."
Even though we beat them EVERY SINGLE TIME.
If ANYONE has the right to talk that way it is US. We should be the ones saying "Oh it's just CU, we ALWAYS beat them".

Boise State is the real deal this year. Rice has them rolling. They were basically a handful of points (and some player issues) away from finishing 3rd in the MWC last year with 25+ wins. Oh, and they return almost everyone...in fact they return everyone, except Buckner, that averaged 5.1 PPG and 18.1 MPG.

Yeah Boise is definitely the real deal. Hell, they were last season. Making the Big Dance is not easy. Not like in college football where .500 play gets you in.
I just hope that last seasons horrible showing by the MWC in the Big Dance doesn't have any bad consequences. I just don't want a 24 win Wyo who makes a little run in the MWC Tourney to be screwed over by last years awful showing.
SDSU, and CSU are the only 2 teams that got wins in the big dance, and NM, and UNLV totally choked, and Boise's loss wasn't really a big surprise, but still didn't help matters.

The sheep were the most consistent, but got lambasted by Louisville, SUDS hit FGCU during their hot streak, and Boise was pretty young yet still got in.

UNLV keeps getting top talent, and doing less with more. UNM got boat raced by undersized Harvard because their offense was very similar to ours. Meaning while they have a good defense, they could not score points to save their life.

I know what happened. I'm just hoping that the selection committees don't hold that over the MWC.
I don't want to be the first team out because of last seasons poor performance.

Its not just last season. Last time the MWC actually did much was when both BYU and SUDS made thr Sweet 16. Since then, the MWC does well in OOC, but come Tourney Time, we sizzle and go POOF!

Always exciting, i agree Boise and Utah St are gonna be tough, CSU is down, and Nevada is always a good Bball school, New Mexico is the big boy and Unlv as well.
I like our pick at 7 and if it's better than that I'll sure take it
