Here is what the Sioux Falls newspaper has to say about tonight's game.

Does anyone know if any Wyoming kids will be on the floor for USF?

Also, I would comment on how they might not really get to see a true Division 1 crowd, but then I remembered that the vast majority of Division 1 teams do not even have over 10,000 seating capacity--including Duke. Maybe 4,000-5,000 is a true Division 1 crowd after all?

I don't know if Sioux Falls saw a Division-I crowd or not. It doesn't appear they saw a Division-I team (by the looks of it) tonight.

Some offense and this team would be dangerous, would have to think that will be a priority in recruiting. There seems to be a lot of young raw talent as well. Nance Jr. will be a beast and is only getting better with each game. Gillmore is getting valuable minutes. Washington is an animal when he isn't in foul trouble. A lot of young guys getting a lot of minutes which will only help in the long run. Good time to be a poke fan, 10 wins the last two years and we already have 11!

Without a doubt, this was the worst game I saw Wyoming play so far this season. We weren't hitting our shots - inside or outside. We were tipping balls instead of grabbing them for rebounds and there was no boxing out for rebound position. On defense, we were leaving guys open on the wing all night (and they were hitting them). Maybe we just weren't recovered from the flu or some others on the team were fighting it. Maybe we were looking past this team. We are a better team than what I saw last night.
Just wondering, who was the big man (about 6-9) sitting on the bench in UW sweats last night? I wonder if he is a new recruit. He was in the huddles during time-outs.

I think it was Tyrone Marshall.

Cowboys are going to be a little inconsistent still at times. We are just lucky that the D comes up big for us. We were out rebounded bad last night, but we didn't turn the ball over. We did however have a lot of steals and forced turnovers. It's about having a complete night which we didn't. Lucky to have come away with that one.

The philosophical underpinning of Coach Shyatt's approach to basketball is that good defense is not a matter of luck and is expected to come up big, especially when the shots aren't falling or officials call the game inconsistently.

Good teams win game when the only thing that is going right is on the defensive end.

I doubt you are going to like this team much then, because coach has said from the outset that he is counting on Defense to win some games when the ball is bouncing the wrong way on offense.

Is the box score from this game a misprint? How in the hell did we get outrebounded by a D-II team 36-15? That could not have gone over well with the coaching staff. Did we throw our zone out there a lot in this one? That may be a partial explanation for the rebounding stats but... damn.
