Signing Day / Transfer Portal

Went through all the listed commits with what 247 listed and all but 3 or 4 had D1 FBS offers. Some nice looking offers with several.

In the past it seemed like we were definitely recruiting more developmental players.

What I wonder is if we will go for some stout transfer players that can play right away with any remaining openings. I just don’t trust this staff to play the best players.
Looks like we are still looking to add a crap load of players

Why would you say such a thing? Give me one - just one - example of this staff not playing the best players. Other than at QB, RB, WR, CB, and most every other position, give me an example Porker.

;)
Ummm 🥃, hmmmm 🥃, maybe 🍺, well 🍺, I tried every reasonable way to nurture the thought processes in justifying my assertion but I can’t say it any more eloquently than your statement. Thanks for the multiple choice examples you provided and perhaps I will sort it out after hoops and some libations. Maybe not 😵‍💫.

VERY solid write-up here (WyoNation Blog) on signing day. Good work fellas!

Some kid from Cody signed with donkey state.

We got Drube and an OL from Star Valley. Three D-1 kids from Wyoming is legit. Hope the kid from Cody comes to his senses and makes it to Wyoming somehow

What is up with Cody. Starting not to like that place as it seems they all think they are too good for Wyoming.
You're supposed to be the Cody kid's biggest fan now. He did grow up in Wyoming, you know. Now you have to be a boise fan. How could you not love his decision to not be a Cowboy???

Boise being in the vaunted PAC was probably a major factor.

Who would want to pass up the opportunity to play in places like Pullman, Washington in December in front of 10k mostly uninterested fans? That's big time college football!

Concerned about life after football? Boise State is surely a top 300 university. That degree will get you some connections!

I sure hope some regulations come about soon with the portal. I’m fine with players being compensated, but having the ability to just up and leave without any repercussions is ridiculous. And I’ve heard the argument of, “well, coaches do it, so players should be able to as well”. Difference is, coaches have to pay a buyout or the school that is hiring them does, so there is a financial kick back to the team being left. Maybe when a player leaves because a school offers more money, that school or the player owes the school they’re transferring from a buyout. And one window is enough time. This window and then another spring window is stupid.

These early announcements make me wonder if there is a little more pre eligible to enter the portal tampering going on than is being reported. I assume you normally would not enter the portal unless you have a good indication someone will offer a scholarship and NIL deal. King and Siders are good young players so I can see them getting offers.

I'm always amused at how flabbergasted this board gets when a Wyoming kid doesn't just automatically sign with UW.

The University of Wyoming isn't entitled to Wyoming students, nor is Wyoming football entitled to Wyoming players. These kids have every right to go to school and/or play football at any of the hundreds of schools across the country...for any number of reasons.

I was born and raised here, and have lived here the majority of my adult life as well. However, for numerous reasons, I chose to go to school elsewhere. That makes me a traitor and "un-Wyoming" to half the people here, and it's objectively hilarious.

agreed ... but this sentiment is radioactive for some on here.

Subjective, dude.
