We are owning the recruiting in colorado.
That statement might be a little bit strong.
We didn't even get the top prospect out of Colorado this season in Carlton Hurst. Instead, he ended up at Colorado State. To Shyatt's credit, Hurst was one of his top targets in this years recruiting class, but he lost out to CSU.
The guys Shyatt has been signing out of the high school class all seem to be "raw, but with huge potential" type. Unfortunately, very few of them look like they are ready to make an early impact, and I have my doubts that some of them will ever develop into an impact player in the MWC. Does this have anybody else the least bit concerned?
We've been lucky to have some JUCO and transfer players carry the team these past few seasons. It will likely be the same next season, as Charles Hankerson is probably the best player currently on our basketball team (yes, better than Washington). I'd like to see Shyatt bring in some freshman who can make an immediate impact next year with these remaining scholarships.
