Should Hill win Freshmen of the Year?

Had over 800 yards rushing though.
Did he? I hadn't checked. Wow...if that's the case, I'd favor 800 yards on a short season over 900+ in a full season

Yep. And chalk up almost 200 more receiving and he sits at 1000 yards even on a short season.

He played less than half the season, But the issue here is Freshman of the year usually makes an impact on a team and neither of those people made impacts that lasted. I mean I'm all for voting for Hill but it's pretty hard to get Freshman of the Year on a team that finishes at the bottom.

...and UNLV is doing any better? I frankly don't want to think about how the Fresno, Utah State, and Boise State games would have gone without Brian. He was the offense.

When Wick didn't come back against the sheep, I think many of us were worried, because he was our offense up until that point. Then Hill came in and ran for 120 yards. And then torched Fresno and never looked back.

Next season, Wick and Hill are both power backs that push the pile but also have the extra gear to turn up when they hit open space. The only difference is overall experience. That is one position next year we will be set at, barring any freak injuries (of all things, a hand injury? Not criticizing Wick, just never thought it would be a hand injury to take him out for most of the rest of the season, the way he would just barrel into and through scores of defenders every play).

I would disagree that Hill has that extra gear. I think Wick is quite a bit faster than Hill. They both punish the defenders that try to take them down, but I still think Wick is the better back. Hill does a good job of falling forward, but Wick drags the pile consistently.

Boyd gets it...
