I was there. It was bad. On both sides, but I think it affected our players more. The guards were a little tentative about the dribble drive for fear of getting a travelling call or offensive foul, and our guys that are used to drawing charges couldn't get those calls like they should have. Leonard was mauled all night, which he needs to expect the rest of the way, but it was ridiculous against the Ewes. That T against Nance was ridiculous, plain and simple. CSEwe could have had a three-seconds call every time they touched the ball. Their bigs were camping out down there. I know they don't usually call that, but when the guy doesn't even try to get out of the paint, it needs to be done. And stopping play for the "injured" CSEwe player, but not stopping play for TWO of our guys laying on the floor was just flat out ridiculous. I'm glad to hear that Shyatt petitioned against that crew, but I think this was one of those times he should have drawn the Technical chewing the refs ear. I don't normally advocate that but if anything, it would have let the crew know they were terrible.
I actually recorded the game and went home and watched it with my wife. She's 8-months pregnant and decided not to go to the game to avoid getting into a brawl.

Anyway, when she watched the game, she was commenting on the same things I saw live, which tells me it wasn't just my brown-and-gold colored glasses or the heat of the moment at the game.
Regardless, the team didn't play well enough to win, and you can't blame this loss on the officials. Had we lost by 4 or 6, I think we'd have a valid argument, but we lost by 19. Did the refs affect the game? Absolutely. But they didn't cost us the game. Our poor shooting, especially in the first half did that.
GO POKES!
