Sheep down by 9 against DU. In Fort Collins...

DU wins, 80-70.

I am really confused about DU. Before the season I had them pegged as a very difficult opponent. However, they had looked like crap up until tonight. Now they go into Moby and win?

Before tonight, their only wins were a come from behind win against D2 Alaska-Anchorage and an OT win over Southern University.

I was listening to that game on my way home. Godawful rebounding by CSU. Du isn't that good this year either.

Sweep the Sheep? Could happen... Hope so!

CSU sucks this year people.
They do have good coaching so they will be able to steal some games, but man they lost 5 starters, AND their 6th man.
You don't just lose your 6 best players then be magically good again.

DU is going to be the same solid, but not great team like always.

The DU game is another game Wyo should win. They should be able to pull it out.

Wyo vs. CSU though? Should be a sweep this season. But unlike last year, it will be a sweep for the good guys!

Id be lying if I said this game doesn't make me nervous. We have, historically, had a hard time with Joe Scott's offense. I hope to god we win, esp after the CSU loss.

Depends which Wyoming team shows up this weekend. If it is the team that played Colorado or Ohio St. then Wyoming will win. If it is the team that played against South Dakota the other night they will lose. Granted it is hard to beat a team like S. Dakota as bad the 2nd time you play them as you did the first but Wyoming needs to not play down to their competition and come ready to ball on Sunday.

Denver isn't a bad team. They have had a tough schedule and then lost a game or two they shouldn't have. Hopefully Wyoming has their game faces on.

If CSU sucks this year, then so does UW. I've watched several CSU games this year and they appear to be at a very similar level to the Cowboys. I expect a split this year with the home team winning each time. CSU had a bad game last night, and DU looked better than they have the rest of season. There is no doubt that CSU is not as good as last year, but they aren't as bad as some of you make them out to be. In my opinion, they are on par with the Pokes. Very evenly matched teams.

The Cowboys are nowhere near a good enough of a basketball team that we should be expecting sweeps of any conference opponent. Winning on the road is a very difficult task in college basketball. The only teams that I find it likely we sweep this year are Air Force and San Jose State.

I expect to sweep the sheep this year in hoops. :D

CSU got absolutely destroyed against Gonzaga, while Wyo almost grabbed a W against Ohio State.
Wyo lost to CU by 5 in Boulder, and CU beat the Sheep in Foco by 5.
CSU has also lost to UTEP and DU.
CSU is dropping games they shouldn't.
If Wyo loses to DU I will take back what I have said, but I don't see how CSU is at our level this season.

I would have to agree with Beav, they are not too good this year. They scheduled a very easy schedule and are still dropping games they should easily win. WYO is a better team than CSU to this point, but I am not sure if we will sweep them or not.

Look what happened in this game: 1) CSU got out rebounded on DU offensive boards. 2) DU got and made many 3-pointers.
Those are two Poke defensive weaknesses lately. So Larry, how are you going to counter this on Sunday?

Have you watched them play? They won't contend for a MWC championship this year, but they are easily in the middle tier of MWC basketball teams. From a purely objective standpoint, I see both CSU and UW finishing around .500 in conference play this year.

Also, can we please quit saying that we "almost beat Ohio State". We lost by 15 points. Yes, the game was close for 25 minutes, but the end result is really all that matters. In the end, that game played out exactly as one would expect. The suffocating Ohio State defense did its job and allowed Ohio State to pull away for the win. Does it really matter whether they did that at the 10 minute mark of the 1st half or the 10 minute mark of the 2nd half? There are multiple games every single night where the underdog keeps things close or is even in the lead at the half, only to lose control of the game in the 2nd half. That's why college basketball games are 40 minutes. Over the course of the 40 minutes, the better basketball team that night ends up making enough plays to win the game.

Wyoming staying in the game for 30 minutes, even leading the game with 10 minutes left against Ohio State, is a hell of a lot better than being worked by Zaga for the entire game.

Obviously "almost" wins don't count in the record, but if you compare the two teams, Wyoming is better.

What I saw in the Ohio St game was our lack of depth down low. When our big guys got in foul trouble and had to back off on defense, we fell behind. Up until that point, we played them very evenly.

where's all those Sheeep lovers talking about their "last years" team, get over yourselves...you won't be relevant in years again
