Semi-OT: A well connected barber

The barber that I go to, to get my haircut is the barber to the University President, Dave Walsh, Kenny Sailors, and used to do Joe Glenn's haircuts as well when he was here. Maybe more.

Just thought it was kind of neat is all.

just remember...there is no such thing as confidential info shared with a barber :winky:

And that barber is...???

I have my guesses, seeing how there is only one or two "barbers" in Laramie (from what I remember).

Is it...

I know who that barber is - I used to go to him all the time, and he'd brag about what players and coaches had been in. I got in right as Joe Glenn left once :)

When i was in school over there I would go to this old guy (can't remember his name now) whose shop was down on Grand and somthing like 4th maybe. He gave terrible haircuts, but he always had great stories about Laramie in the old days.

That'd be the guy...

I think he is speaking of Larry at the Barber co on Grand next to the catholic church. He cuts my hair as well. There were many times I was next in line after Joe Glenn. Always good conversation there.

Anyone remember the Center Barber Shop on 21st and Garfield? Classic four-stool shop with old iron frame cushioned waiting loungers with ashtrays built into the arms. Used to just go there after school (at Thayer) and read their comic books and listen to people like Curt Blount and Bob Agader (SP?) talk smack about Bill Lewis.

I went to that guy in Laramie a few times...neat guy. Haircuts take WAAAAY too long, but it's cause he'll take his time and share all the sports gossip you could want. He will also shave your neck with a straight razor, as opposed to just using the buzzers. Too bad I didn't have enough hair on the top of my head to keep going there throughout my 5 year tenure at UW.

He was also the barber for Marcus Bailey...and he told me Bailey didn't want to even try to get a medical redshirt his senior year, because McClain had already proclaimed that the team was Jay Straight's team (or whoever the next great individual we had at the time was). At least that was the scoop back then.
