Not sure where to begin. What a whirlwind. I decided to not go, given the price of tickets on Stubhub, and I don’t trust Craigslist. I got an email from Key Arena on Thursday around 1 PM saying they were releasing more tickets to the general public. My wife called right before the tickets were to be released and said, “This could be a once in a lifetime experience, I think you need to go.” My old man logged on and scored tickets for $88, lower bowl. Same tix on Craigslist were going for $225+ day prior. Glad I waited. We left Utah around 5 PM Thursday night.
We began driving…..stopped in Boise for fuel that night. Only 5 hundred more miles to go

We drove all night and ended up in Prosser, WA at 3 AM. Slept for three hours and left at 6 AM as we still had three hours to drive.

Caught rush hour traffic going into Seattle and for a moment I was worried we would miss the game. Ended up at Key Arena with about 20 mins to spare before tipoff

What comeback by Nance! Cut the lead. This team was special. Going to miss them.

Second game was a riot. Watching UC-Irvine almost knockoff Louisville. Their 7’6” center was awesome. So uncoordinated, but his dunks were hilarious.

Parts of Oregon reminded me of my drive to Laramie. As soon as the UCI game was over, we headed back home. Such a fast trip.

Stopped in Baker City, Oregon on the way home. Cool city. I would stop again.

Overall, it was well worth the trip. Few thoughts:
-I am going to miss this team. You could see the bond they have. Pretty rare to see that.
-People who say Nance is overrated need to climb in a hole and go away
-Seattle is full of crazy people
-Key Arena, for being old, was a cool venue I thought. Padded seats all around, great hosts
-Yakima, WA should be named Yuckima.
-The pass into Seattle was amazing. Reminded me a lot of the Tetons, but you are driving through them. Beautiful drive.
-This experience for the young guys on the team will give them a taste of what it is like to play in these games. Great thing for future.
-We need a 6’4” wing shooter
-Hankerson went out with a freaking bang. So happy for him.
-Larry Nance, Jr is a true ambassador for UW. Seeing him cry on Sportscenter and say how much he will miss this school was reality for me how dang lucky we are.
-Local fans were raving on how friendly and impressed they were with UW fans there. To know surprise, they said BYU fans at Gonzaga were condescending A-holes. Weird.
-The refs were pathetic in both games. UW got hosed on several calls. UC-Irvine got hosed vs L-ville
-People can complain about Shyatt’s offense, but I think he knows our strengths/weaknesses. This offense I believe helps balance out where we may lack in athleticism compared to some teams.
-Seeing 15k people standing and cheering for the Pokes vs UNI was great. Loud. Reminded me of Jazz playoff games back in the day.
-I wish I would have bought a UW tourney shirt. SOLD OUT by the time I went to get one.
-I am not looking forward to the next six months of sports hiatus on here. People get cabin fever and start thinking all crazy like.
-Cooke's dunk was sick. I am convinced that set the tone for the game. Pisses me off to think about.
-People who say Nance is overrated are dead wrong. The fact he ended up in Laramie is awesome. You can't a put a statistic on things he does. Like take pictures with kids after games, visiting with fans, etc.
