If so, we are screwed. We have all of 4 commits. It is still early, but no OL. No DL. Until we see new line commits - I will have very little confidence that things are changing. Granted, we won't play 4 teams in the Top 10 in 6 weeks, likely ever again...but I don't get a warm fuzzy about the rebuilding of the program just yet. But to get absolutely killed in those games...is hogwash. We have given our starting QB all of 2 seconds time to get rid of the ball and have gotten absolutely NO pressure on the opposing QB all year (even SUU and Toledo). Until those two things change, we will be, at best, a middle of the road team.

The good thing is that basketball season is just around the corner...oh wait, Schroyer is still our coach...

I would please ask DC to call up a game plan of some sort - to keep us somewhat close - against Utah. The bastards deserve at least a scare on their way out.

The reason we only have 4 commits so far is because we're going after a lot of kids that many teams want - with other words, these kids aren't ready to commit yet. That tells me we're a bit more aggressive with recruiting than we've been before.

If we can actually win the recruiting battle for guys like these, things should look good in a couple of years:

And it looks like one of the D-linemen there is the nephew to Fanoga (however you spell his name).

But it is good that they are going after a bunch of linemen.

I hope we can get those guys - but until the ink is dried on the LOI, I am going to be skeptical. You have absolutely no argument from me that we SHOULD be going after these players - as to do otherwise is to buy more of the same. I am willing to be patient, as we all knew this was a project when DC took over. However, I will also be watching signing day to see who actually signs to see if we are making progress toward DC's vision for the program. As he says, "we are not there yet." But ultimately, the only way to "get there" is to get the right guys.

And that is exactly the key here. He could have filled his recruiting class already by going after kids starving for D-1 offers, but he's not. He's trying to get the ones he thinks will actually increase the team's chances of being very good.

Like you said, the only thing that really matters as far as number of recruits go is who ends up signing an LOI in the spring. Who has the most recruits right now doesn't matter in the least.
