Scheduling

I know hindsight is 20/20 and our schedule is now full through 2019, retrospectively, and if the decade crowd is right, maybe Burman should have went for the money rather than Gardner Webb and Wofford.

If the next 5, 6, 7, or 8 years (whatever the patience crowd is preaching) is a wash, instead of scheduling down, we should have scheduled more big money games on the road. Losses are losses and the two games last year didn't wreck us. Hell, the UND and EMU game wrecked us more than those two and we had to pay UND.

The MWC is so pathetic that isn't like we have to take it easy to prepare for a tough conference slate.

Taking more money games over our decade rebuilding process might have made more sense than worrying about our OOC schedule especially considering the state of the MWC.

Wait, so Oregon and Mich. State last year is a good thing now?

Regardless, 2016-18 OOC is no cake walk assuming Wazzu can step up in the next three years.

Mich State paid for new turf or at least part of new turf. We paid UND over 300K. Both games were big losses. One was demoralizing. So, yeah, Mich State was a good thing compared with UND.

Look, I'm not bashing Burman on this and get his scheduling philosophy. What I'm saying is, since the decade crowd is preaching patience for 5, 6, 7, 8 or more losing seasons, we might as well get paid for losing especially since we have a very weak conference slate.

Nobody is saying that, though.

But we still have Mizzou, Oregon, Nebraska, Texas Tech, Iowa, Clemson on the future OOC schedule, so...

You're going off on two games in five years as examples of a weak schedule???

Did you see who else is in the OOC slate?

We play in the MWC, so yes, our schedules are inherently weak. An extra money game wouldn't hurt anything since we are on the decade plan. An extra Mill per year could pay top notch assistants in football or bball. Might as well get something.

Play where you recruit.
Recruit where you play.
This is a good rule to live by, but not required. Shyatt hasn't played a game in Florida, but it's practically East Laramie over there with all the recruits we're getting from there

do what Duke does they play where they recruit esp in Basketball, but if we were in the top 10 annually then we'd truly be a force to reckon with

How do you figure that?? Duke recruits from everywhere. This is the current breakdown of their roster:

Nevada
Florida x 2
Ohio
California
Texas x 2
North Carolina
Pennsylvania
Nigeria
Indiana
Massachusetts
Illinois

However, with as successful a program they have, they are the exception, not the rule. Also Bball is different than FB.
Wrong board I know...sorry.
