sanchez heading to boulder

That'd be the soccer coach.

I know. Just not a fan. At all. Soccer has become America's babysitter.

Title IX did it for me...I could do without money draining prima donna's strolling around campus playing golf, tennis, soccer, etc.

Imagine if they made it to where you had to pay coaches of the women's sports the same as FB and BB!

I'm 100% for Title IX and hate to see Coach Sanchez go. UW Women's Soccer has reached new heights and represents the school well. Hey, without Title IX the NCAA could NEVER run those ads saying that NCAA athletes have higher SAT's than does the general enrollment! :) So much money is wasted on college athletics in the stupid arms race, and so many bozos are brought on campus to compete and take up space that it is nice to see a little sensibility in female athletes getting equal rights and competing at relatively low costs. Building Olympic type facilities at every school, paying coaches who barely got their phys. ed. degrees hugh salaries, for mediocre performance, coaching, LOL, and pretending we'll make money doing so has ruined college athletics. Yep, I'm 100% behind Title IX. I generally try to put my head in the sand on the moronic course of college athletics, it's easier to keep my dinner down that way, :) but when the only sensible and fully honest part, women's sports, gets dissed I have to pull it out. :)

If you pull it out at women's sports, you will go to jail.

Ok, I kid. And I hear what you are saying...and you have a valid point(s).

I am on the other side of the fence though...as CSewe's new HC stated, (paraphrasing) CSewe Football is the front porch of Colorado State University...and if the front porch looks good, people will come in.

Wyoming football is the front porch of the University of Wyoming. Dump all the eggs into that basket, and everything else gains & grows. You know what happened to Utah enrollment when they won the 2005 Fiesta bowl (2004 season) against Pitt...and then they continued to win on the national stage...a 65% increase in applications for enrollment (from 2004 to today).

Football should be excluded from Title IX completely. Count men vs. women in all other sports...fine. Football feeds it all. Unfortunately, that has caused this mess we are in BCS, conference departures, etc.

That 'WAS' a GREAT line, McPeachy! Good stuff, Man! :) I'll get off this subject but want to say, we are ALL Cowboy fans and some of the best Cowboy fans I know are females, some former UW athletes, some UW grads but not athletes, and some that are just Cowboy fans. I sure hope we don't alienate ANY Cowboy/Cowgirl fans on this forum. I really appreciate your open mind though. Very cool. Thanks.

In my day I thoroughly enjoyed seeing some of the golf, tennis, soccer, etc. players strolling around campus and Half-Acre.

I agree that it would be make sense to exempt net-revenue sports from Title IX calculations at each campus. The exempted sports might be different on each campus, but the logic of Title IX would still hold.

Meh. I don't know about this year's soccer team, but the last few rosters were stocked with a bunch of snotty bitches that thought they were god's gift to all things UW sports.
