From an outsider, that makes zero sense for both teams unless it is pursuant to a sign and trade. Wilson is a Super Bowl level QB with only 2 years left on his current deal; the Browns, while improving, are not going to be competing for a Super Bowl in the next 2 years. The Browns traded for Tyrod Taylor already with guaranteed money. The Browns also signed veteran QB Drew Stanton. It makes no sense to carry Wilson and Taylor let alone add Stanton to the mix (and what about Kizer...as a 2nd rounder last year, the Browns would owe him money were he to be released).

Seattle is still a contender and doesn't need to blow up the team this year. Seattle has no backup QB following the arrest and subseqeunt release of Trevone Boykin. I suppose if Tyrod Taylor were also to be part of the trade it makes a little more sense. But sorry, Josh Allen isn't ready to lead a playoff level team as a starter next year.

OVERALL, sound like someone throwing feces at the wall and hoping it sticks.

Agree, this has all the makings of one of those wild trade scenarios a fan makes up that makes zero sense.

Just passing on the info. It's been talked about quite a bit. Radio mostly. The scenario that they describe is that John Schneider is rebuilding. The contract that Wilson will demand next year will be to inflated to get other quality pieces. They won a Superbowl with a rookie contact QB and a great supporting cast. Better to trade and try to get what u want, instead of react after Wilson leaves through free agency.

The reason Wilson's agent got in contact with the Seahawks management is that there is more than just casual talk going on around here in the Seattle media.

Just interesting for me. The thought of him coming here, while distant, would be cool. Might have to think about splitting some season tickets with some buddies.

These are weird times for Seahawks fans. Rams are suddenly hoarding talent...49ers are poised to be relevant for a looooong time. Meanwhile, the Hawks are cutting everyone and still seemingly have no cap room. Add in that failed 2017 trade gambles mean the team has no 2nd or 3rd round picks this upcoming draft, and while I think trading Russell is extreme, I know why rumors like this are emerging: it's cause Seattle is in a bad spot. Wilson alone will keep them from being terrible, but this franchise is very much poised to be flirting with 9-7, 8-8, 7-9 type records annually unless they luck into some top-end talent in the draft.
