If you've been following twitter, it sounds like we're still after this guy. We may be working with a scholarship still. Who knows? I'm not going to get into that. I'm going to keep this on the subject and just assume that we still have a scholarship to give.

Here's Ronnie's tweet, twitt, or whatever the fuck the hip young crowd is calling these things now days:

"Got my list down to 6 schools.… DePaul. Purdue. Kansas State. LMU. Creighton. Wyoming. No order."

I think we have a good chance on this kid.

National Titles:

Depaul 1-(They won it the year after we won our second title)
Purdue 1-Helms National Title in 1932(Two years before we won our first title)
Kansas State 0
LMU 0
Creighton 0
Wyoming 2-Helms national title in 1934 and NCAA national title in 1943

In addition, Wyoming has an NCAA player of the year, an NCAA tournament MVP, and the inventor of the jump shot. None of those other five schools have that.

None of the other schools are a two hour drive for his friends and family to come watch his games. That means that even on the Tuesday night game, mom and dad can drive to Laramie and make it back to work the next day.

None of the other schools are going to completely renovate their already impressive basketball arena by the time he graduates.

None of the other schools get to go to Vegas for a conference tournament. In fact, none of the other schools probably bring as many fans to their conference tournaments.

Hell, if you compare conferences, the MWC can hang with the new Big East, the MVC and the Big 12 at hoops.

I think we can land Ronnie Harrell. I sure as hell hope we do.

Ronnie if you're reading this, check out this environment and tell me you don't want to play in front of this crowd:

Hell, this is for a women's game:

Come to Laramie Ronnie. You know you want to.

Not saying he's not good, but there were several things I noticed in the video that he really needs to improve on. 1. He's 6'9" and I never once saw him take the ball to the basket with force. He should've been dunking every time down but would allow smaller defenders to take advantage of him. 2. His shot release is WAY too low. In our league I could see him getting stuffed even from the three point line by a 5'10" guard several times. He has size but doesn't utilize it. 3. He can't or won't jump. Even when shooting from the outside he barely gets up. Driving he's trying for stupi finesse layups when he should be dunking. Just some observations.
