No they didn't. this team should be able to play through poor officiating, and they've done just that this season. They didn't last night. Missed 8 of 13 FT in the second half and had 14 TO's. You're not gonna win many games that way. Officials called the game the way they were gonna call the game. We've got to get to the point where that doesn't matter. This team is close, but not quite there as evidenced last night.

And in a couple of weeks, we get to start all over again....

I bet this next class of recruits takes us to the top of the mountain, though. Have we ever had a player like Justin James come to Wyoming before?

Depends on what you mean by have we ever had someone like him before. If you mean as highly recruited then yes we have. Not recently but back in the 80's and 90's we did. Quinn Higgins was a top 25 recruit in the country I believe.

Of course you can recruit kids and never know for sure how they will turn out. I do think Justin James and Austin Conway are going to be a nice combo for us though. Hopefully we can get a couple of big men that pan out to help down low.

You are right. I think a lot of our success will depend on big man recruiting/development.

It was obvious to me the strategy by Fresno State's coach was to get as physical with Wyoming as the refs would allow. Well, it turned out they were allowing just about anything until in the second half when the fans and coaches had seen enough and started letting the officiating crew know about it. The officials had a huddle in the middle of the court during a timeout and it was very apparent they decided they would show the Wyoming fans and coaches who was in charge. From then on, they then called every touch foul on Wyoming they could call - which resulted in DC picking up either 3 or 4 fouls in just about 5 minutes.
This was the poorest officiated game I have seen this season.

It got the boys frustrated and in turn made them play out of sorts.

Said they were trying to determine if LNJ was fouled before the shot clock expired. Sure iced the hell out of Larry at a critical point in the game.

Rodney Terry is way too animated for the type of team he has, and record wise, he NEVER stays in the coaches box, and I'm not just talking a few feet, they need to put a leash on that Bulldog, seriously

That was the worst officiated game I have seen at least this year(probably more but my memeory is shit). And I don't mean it was lopsided. In my brown and gold glasses I thought we got the short end of the stick but I realize I have a bias so things are never as bad for us as I think. But the refs didn't have control of the game. They let things get out of control and they never got it back. They really ruined the flow every time they huddled and went to the monitor. That Nance free throw really killed the momentum of the team and the crowd. Pretty smart move by Terry to demand they look at the moniitor but the refs never should have agreed to look at it. So while i don't blame them for the loss that was some piss poor officiating.

it's never easy when we have a Dave Hall, Larry Spaulding crew, Eric Curry as much as I used to not like him, he's starting to grow on me, he really tries at times and isn't out for the image like Hall and Verne Harris want.
I miss Moose Stubbing if anybody remembers him, Bobby Dibler was a good one, and I even liked it when Ed Hightower came to Laramie as well.
It's sad when I know the Ref's names but what can i say I'm a College Basketball fan...lol
