Rebounding was key

Best I've ever seen us rebound, especially defensively. I'd like to see us crash the O boards, but whatever. Defense and rebounding travel. We can win road games if we take what we did last night and do it on the road. We didn't shoot great, but still managed to beat the best team in the conference.

JJ was unstoppable. That was the best game I've seen him play. Lou was great. He passed really well and toned it down a bit - several times I could tell he wanted to barrel inside, but restrained himself and made the smart play.

See what happens when Gorski doesn't play? We win. Keep it that way. PLEASE. Edwards can stumble on some good lineups when Gorski doesn't play. I'd like to see a bit more of B. Jones. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Couldn’t agree more. We actually out rebounded them by a decent margin. I think our best lineup by far is the lineup that played most of the second half, and until JJ fouled out. Our new starting 5 should be JJ, Lou, Maldonado, Herndon and Dalton. This is by far our best lineup with all 5 being three point threats and some slashers and all 5 play great D. It’s nice that the staff stuck with this lineup. I would sprinkle in Moemeka and Jones for Herndon and Dalton and Redding and Kelly some at the point. The majority of the minutes should go to the starting 5. All should play 32 plus minutes a game, barring foul trouble

I am really impressed with Maldonado. I think he had a great game as a freshman and that he is going to be really really good. Hope out other two freshmen pan out as well when they play.

JJ is fantastic. I just couldn't help but notice how athletic and how much thicker Nevada is than us, but none of that matters to him. He gets wherever he wants and can knock down a mid range jumper in anyone's face one possession and then drive by them for a dunk on the next one. He is fun to watch.

Great post I 100% agree. When we rebound, we win. When we don't, we lose to CSU at home. Man it would be nice if we could keep this up.
