Realignment: Inevitable Dilemma

I'm sure you've all read the latest talk in the crazy world of college football realignment. The new "Big Four" conferences are likely going to exist with 48-64 teams, and the Wyoming Cowboys are almost guaranteed to not be apart of it. The talks of a "new" Division I have been going on for a long time, and now it seems to be nearing reality.

Lets say the likely and unfortunate consequence of realignment occurs: Wyoming is a part of the new "Division II" of college football. Outside of the Big Four. How does this change your fanhood? Not at all? I'm sure this will sting for a long time, bruised ego and all, but how does it effect Wyoming long-term? I can't say people would "jump off the bandwagon", cause I'm not sure there was one to begin with. Could Wyoming thrive in "Division II"?

Overall, how would you feel if Wyoming gets relegated by these money-chasing bastards in college football?

Here's my realignment fun.. saw this posted by billings over on eGriz:

If I didn't know any better, I'd say that tweet said JMU was contacted by the WAC.

:wtf:

Appears to be happening...... to be honest... surprised it has taken this long. :tickedoff:

I know that I would not want to schedule any team in the four superconferences, even for the money, just to "give" them an easy victory.
I'd want them to have to play only each other and eat each other alive.
So a program might get paid a lot to be in a superconference but may be a ZERO win team too.
I'd laugh at that.
So don't play them.

I heard that the Big 12 is probably looking to take Florida State, Miami, Clemson, Virginia Tech.
And then to ask Notre Dame and some other program to get to their SUPER 16.
That's a really great fucked up conference for those of us who prefer the older ways of playing teams that made geographical sense.
So yes, I'd be less interested but I'd still watch the big cheaters.
I've been watching the big cheaters for years.

Also on the radio recently here in the Dallas area some sports guys were talking about Texas A&M and how they will regret going to the SEC even though they just had to get away from Texas even if it hurts them.
Oh those sheepfuckers in College Station...........

Texas won't take as many recruits this coming 2013 class BUT something to note about it is that every player that Texas and Texas A&M has offered has chosen Texas over Texas A&M.
So Texas is beating Texas A&M in that way.

And this whole alliance kind of thing between the Big 12 and SEC is more powerful ratings wise than the Pac-12 and Big Ten alliance for the NYD bowls, according to what I've read.

Well, whatever, I could go on for a long time.
My CFB world has been fucked up since 1987 anyway so I'm really tired of it.
I'll probably only get to 2 to 4 games this coming season anyway.
I can definitely see that dwindling in time.........
The rest I'll just watch on tv.

MrTitleist, are you on the east coast? Wasn't aware many people in the west were keeping up with the CAA drama.

Anyway, JMU won't go to the WAC - the CAA is still a good FCS football conference even with the loss of ODU. Plus, JMU's basketball is terrible so the loss of ODU/VCU won't exactly kill them except to lose a few highly attended games each year.

The MAC would be a good fit for them. However, they have a lame duck administration at the moment and those in place aren't looking for anything to change (i.e. they plan to stay in the CAA). When JMU's new president comes in they may try to move, but it won't be happening this offseason.

No, I'm in Western Montana. I know all about the CAA and FCS as I'm a Montana Grizzly season ticket holder.. watched UM dominate JMU a few year ago in the playoffs, then get handled by Richmond and Villanova in the FCS title game. Pretty familiar with the ODU Monarch program.. they have a sweet stadium. I also helped build the championshipsubdivision.com site. :)

Oh I'm adding to what I said earlier that Georgia Tech may be the other team that may be getting the consideration for the Big 12 reading through other boards.

Well, I heard that ESPN moved Pam Ward from CFB so anything can happen now!!!!

What happened at the Marshall game?

BTW, she's nowhere near as bad as Sean Salibury was!

As far as Big 12, we're hearing the already known ND, Clemson, FSU, aaaaand Ga Tech... But maybe Louisville? Or possibly Pitt or Maryland, I suppose depending on money... It's sounding like 13 slots have been filled and the fussing is over 14.

Oh please....nothing is done. We've seen actual headlines confirming a conference move that have been dead wrong. Decades of history prevent me from believing Notre Dame has joined any conference.

If you're gallantly oh pleasing me over "we're hearing the already known ND, Clemson, FSU, aaaaand Ga Tech", I meant that everyone has heard that, not that it's a done deal. Everyone knows those schools are in the rumor mix, who knows if they're true. I can't stand ND, they can stay where they all for all I care. Maybe we'll scoop up UW instead...

Haha pardon me, I forgot to use the sarcasm font. :) I'm way okay with keeping schools in general regions together... But we totes opened that ridiculous door by allowing West Vagina in.
