what's everyone think do we win a hard fought one or do we not have enough horses to get it done???

I think we win similar to a New Mexico type game and we pull it out 63-60, other thoughts???
Time to get on the Jelly Donut (Avila) lol

One simple word, Worried.

Nervous. Excited.
This is a huge game. And these next 7 or 8 days could determine the MWC Championship.
Wyo and SDSU both have hard games (vs. CSU for Wyo, @Boise for SDSU) before they play eachother.
Not to mention CSU has Wyo, UNLV, and New Mexico.

Wyo or SDSU could very well put a 2 game buffer on eachother.

Obviously, if we could open up a 2 game lead on SDSU, we need Boise to beat SDSU, but more importantly we need to beat CSU. Tonight.

I don't want to look so far ahead (7 days is FAR ahead in the MWC). But it's hard to deny the implications of this game.
We can say "just one game at a time" as fans, but a win tonight puts us 2 full games ahead of the sheep, keeps us undefeated against Colorado schools, and keeps us in first in the MWC.

Got to beat the Pokes tonight. I am confident Larry will play much better than he did in the second half against the Sheep.
Adams and Grabau are our keys to winning tonight. And God please let there be a Hank sighting!

I think this game defines the season -- because home game wins are now a must and because it will determine the conference lead and the team's confidence. If Hank returns, and I think he will, the Pokes will have a chance. Don't forget, CSU seems to have found their groove, while the Pokes have been struggling as of late.

Like Wyo2Dal, I am worried too. I have had a bad feeling thinking about this game all week. Not sure why. Maybe it's our lackluster play the last 5 games, maybe it's the fact that Larry, Hank and Josh haven't been their normal selves for the last couple games. I'm not sure...I just hope our boys come out and stomp a hole in the sheep and make me feel foolish for being worried at all.

+1.

Absolutely defines our season. This, the AFA road game and the SDSU road game are the biggest 3 game stretch of Wyo hoops in a LONG time.
We can have the opportunity (need a little help from Boise on Sunday) to open up a 2 game lead on the MWC.
We also have the possibility of falling 2+ games back.

The next 3 games after these 3 are: SJSU, @Nevada, Fresno St.

As a fan, as an eager-beaver (no pun intended), I see those 3 games as a chance to get as close to locking up a MWC title as possible.
BUT, that can not happen unless we win these next 3.
Can't win these next 3 unless we win tonight.

Biggest game of the year so far tonight?

Decade?

A win here keeps us in serious contention for the MWC title and at least maintains the hope, however slim, of a NCAA at-large berth. A loss and it's all about the MWCT and the NIT.

Exactly. I think we squeak one out at home by maybe four. Might even end up an overtime game.

Adams has always played well against CSEwe - probably wants to show something extra against his home state team. I think he comes up big tonight.

I don't think the lambs will be prepared for Cooke's emergence. He was pretty much a non-factor in Moby offensively, and I think will have a big game.

They'll key on Nance (and likely hack the shit out of him like they did in Moby), but he'll be consistent and prepared for the physicality.

If Hankerson and Grabau can limit the turnovers and hit a few from the outside to keep their D honest, we should come out on top.

We've also got to have good officiating that keeps control of the game (read: doesn't let Jelly Donut get away with his crap, and keeps the call consistent on both sides) or this could quickly devolve into a brutal hack-fest.

But make no mistake, this will be a hard-fought war tonight. Here's hoping the local crowd and especially the students are out in force tonight. The team will need that energy.

GO POKES!

The biggest key will be foul trouble. Last time, Cooke picked up two fouls in the first 2:38. That cannot happen tonight.

That was also in Fort Collins where they let Thugvilla smash into Nance for the entire 1st half.

I'm thinking it comes down to Defense, crazy as that sounds. My feeling is we get to the line 20 times tonight, and if we can hold them down from 3, say below 30% and take care of the rock- we will get a tough W. I can't stand Eustachy, he lost that game for the Rams against Boise with the late T. That was inexcusable, the guy is a raving lunatic. Love seeing the Sheep go home empty on this one. Adams breaks out of his funk and gets into the lane for some jamming, and dishing to our bigs. Lets get Dunk Town shaking tonight. Anxiously awaiting a break out game for our boys.

i wonder who the refs are for tonights game, if it's Dave Hall we're ok, Tom Oneill ugh...long night...lol

I would consider starting McManamen and sitting Cooke for the first couple of minutes. Keep DC from getting into immediate foul trouble and for the everyone to settle into the game flow. A smaller lineup might get us going early and throw CSU off their gameplan.

These words should never be spoken by a Wyoming fan. Dave Hall has been consistently awful for years.

Keys to win IMO:

1. Limit them 30% from the land of three.
2. Take care of the ball maximum of 8 TO's
3. Shoot better 50%+

#'s 2 and 3 aren't completely necessary in my opinion. I think we'll be fine even with 10-12 turnovers, and we don't need to shoot lights out to beat these guys. We sure as hell didn't accomplish #'s 2 & 3 down in Ft. Collins, and CSU traditionally doesn't play that well in Laramie.

None of that means anything, i suppose. In any respect, I think the biggest keys to the game are your #1, don't let CSU get to the FT line too much, and limit their 2nd chance points. We rebounded well on Saturday, and we'll need to do the same tonight. Did anyone else notice that we crashed the offensive boards a little more on Saturday than we usually do? I don't know if we'll do that tonight since CSU is a pretty good transition team, but I'd still like to see it. I think we have the athletes to crash the offensive boards a little more and perhaps throw in some more full court press.

Pokes need to eliminate the stupid turnovers they have been committing the past couple games. And, we need Hankerson and McM to get out of their funk.

It will be interesting to see how the team responds without Herndon. And how Larry responds to how he played in Fort Collins. He might be a pissed off individual tonight based on how they were banging him.

This will be a battle, but will go with the Pokes by 3.

Go Pokes!!

We need Barnes to get into a brawl with Jelly Donut. Maybe they would actually kick him out of the game this time. Of course I think Barnes might kill the guy.

the Larry's have a shouting match tonight and the best Larry gets to stay after the other one gets tossed...lol
