Quarterback possibilities (Slim pickings)

A lot of highly rated JUCO QB's made their decisions during the weeks that Craig Bohl was still leading NDSU in the playoffs...thus a huge reason why I hoped NDSU would lose and lose quickly so that Bohl could tend to more urgent matters in Laramie.

Among the best JUCO QB's I could find that have not yet committed:

Colton Kane
A Pro-Style Quarterback who played at East Central CC in Decatur, MS

Malik Bush
A Pro-Style Quarterback who played his HS ball in Hackensack, NJ and attended Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts.

Brandon Bergeron
A Pro-Style Quarterback out of Louisiana who played last year at Highland CC in, Kansas

Luke Barnes
A Pro-Style Quarterback out of Ft Walton Beach, Florida, he played last year at Hutchinson CC in, Kansas

So far as classic pro-style drop back QB's are concerned, that appears to be all that is left for now.

Go Pokes!

It's a double edged sword. NDSU loses and Bohl is in earlier. But then again, they win and we have a 3 time National Champion Coach recruiting. Sure it's FCS, but it's still legit with High School players, coaches and their families. Not Saban legit, but better than some un accomplished FBS coach, and Bohl will now be an FBS coach and have the Championships under his belt.

Technically speaking the pickings are not slim regarding high school QBs. Except for those who left HS early and are on campus somewhere, they are all available. The staff needs to take a look at a handful of their type QBs who may be going to a "better" program, but who may also have a handful of older or more college experienced QBs ahead of them in line, and attack. With Jason leaving, we are now the best option in the country for a QB that wants to start his true freshman year. And the system Bohl runs doesn't necessarily need the QB to be "the man" and make all the plays as we had with the DC system. Other schools have been getting our transfers recently (TCU, Vandy, Ok State, Utah!), well let's go after theirs. Dog eat dog.

I feel if they take off the gloves, they have a good sell.

A team that wasn't a bottom feeder with practically the entire starting team returning (except QB).

A real head coach with real success and experience.

The very good chance to start as a true freshman, and the fact that at Wyoming, that's exactly what we have done with our last two QBs.

Beatutiful weather, hot chicks, legal pot right down the road, etc...

There are actually plenty of May grad JUCO's out there, namely in California. Some of the Kansas JUCO QB's intrigue me but then again many of them come from spread programs.

I'm sure the staff will find a suitable QB to steady the boat for a couple years before we can find a high school kid ready to take over the reigns.
