Wish we could get some recruits with a few more stars. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/recruit-search-results
There are some star heavy recruits on Rivals that have Wyoming as a team they are interested in, but we haven't offered them. There's a 4 star running back, a 3 star O lineman and a 3 star D back. If we wait too long they could either accept somewhere else or take our lack of action as non interest. Maybe they don't fit our system.

my link only showed guys not committed yet who have offers. I figured the one's UW were after already had scholarship offers. I hope we get some. Maybe some of our better players in the past have been those 2 star recruits, but if we get some more talented guys off the bat, they will more likely have a bigger impact earlier in their careers.

boise and TCU are great because they find the diamonds in the rough players that are 2 n 3 stars that turn into 4s and 5s we need that

You have to have the coaches to coach and mold them. I'm not sure we have that. DC may be able to, but I'm not sure the rest of the coaching staff can. Can our QB coach, Line coaches, Receiver coaches, etc. turn a 2 into a 4? I'm not completely sure we've seen evidence. We have a freshman RB who can't hold onto the ball. Our defense bites on PA plays all the time. Our starting QB doesn't look for his receivers before the good ole "Oh shit, run" play. Our O-line can't give him the time to do anything but that.

I love my Cowboys and hope for nothing but the best. But I believe we need to go after the best recruits we can instead of a bunch of 2s, and hoping they turn into something special. (It worked out well for Glenn and Schroyer, right?)

Agreed

We need those guys, cause we can't recruit the 4s yet...but we'll be in a world of hurt if we miss out on some 4s in the hopes that a bunch of 2s will be something special. :twocents:

I would assume that the staff will have quite a few recruits visiting over the next two to three weeks. December is a big month for visits. Hopefully, they can lock some of these kids up during their respective visits...

GO POKES!!!

Also, remember that just because Rivals doesn't show us with an offer doesn't mean that one hasn't been extended. Since coaches aren't allowed to discuss recruits, all this information (offers, visits, favorites) is through the recruit themselves or sometimes even their parents, high school coaches, or friends. There are probably several prospects that are interested in Wyo that aren't even shown as being interested on Rivals.

Devin Moore, Casey Bramlet, Malcom Floyd, Jovon Bouknight, John Fletcher weren't highly rated out of high school and were the best running back, receiver, DL and QB we have had in a while

Boise state also gets players who have pac 10 offers but are unable to go to the pac 10 because they are academically ineligible. They can go to boise because they have shitty academic standards compared to the pac 10.

I've had the privilege of watching Brett the past three years, and know him personally. These are sure things: He's a warrior on the field, and tries to do everything the right way. He'll work his tail off learning whoever's system he's in. I'm not sure I've seen anybody hate losing more than he does, but he recovers and tries to learn from his mistakes. His teammates LOVE to go into battle with him. As a member of his hometown, I can tell you he does nothing but make us proud. As much of a talent as he is and can be on the field, this kid is already a superstar as a Christian and a human being. If he comes to visit, take a few minutes to talk with him, you'll get what I'm saying. But remember, just because he's one of the nicest people you'll meet, doesn't mean he won't fire up your program and put the hurt on the opposition come game day.

I think he will be in very good hands here at UW. I remember one other recruit that came to UW from Salem, OR, Josh Davis - a basketball player from about 7 or 8 years ago that took us into the 2nd round game of the NCAA . Keep it up Salem - we love ya.

I really miss watching Jovon Bouknight play, I had really hoped to see him play Sunday. However he has been one hell of a Receivers coach with Utah State.
