QB…

Sawvell keeps talking about how good Svaboda looks in practice. Second coming of Josh Allen. I bet that is true, problem is the poor kid is a vampire. Lights come on and he turns to dust.

Have seen this with lots of players over the years in football and basketball. They look amazing in practice and scrimmages and then fall apart once the fans are in the stands and the scoreboard matters.

The kid is an athlete, but he is not a quarterback. And he’s definitely not a gamer. Time to give Anderson a chance. Maybe he doesn’t look as good as Evan in practice but who knows, maybe Sawvell just might be surprised to see how he responds in an actual game situation.

What’s the worst that can happen trying this change? We lose?

This is 💯 how I feel. Right now not making a change in a game is the perfect definition of insanity. Doing the same thing expecting a different outcome.

I am starting to think either Peasley was a lot better than I thought or Svoboda is even worse than I feared. I'll go with fear.

Its still unimaginable to me that after 3 full games of complete ineptitude, that the coach hasn't at least trotted out someone else for just a series to see what he's got. And I' talking about when the game is still (relatively) in question, not down 48 on the road with2 minutes left.

According to Sawvel, Svoboda is still the guy that gives us the best chance to win.

Either he is a terrible evaluator of talent or we are in major trouble at the QB spot.

What I saw with my own eyes is that Svoboda stares down his primary receiver before the ball is hiked and never takes his eyes off him. Add missing open receivers downfield and you get a pretty bad outcome.

Changes should have been made in the whole process...from a QB competition in the fall, to putting in Anderson to work the entire 2nd half against ASU. Maybe Evan is just a practice type player, and shits hiself during an actual game? That, and we have an OC that is seemingly inept. Who fucking runs a shotgun play on 4th an inches? Who has his QB come out against BYU and airmail 2 passes in a row, instead of giving him some high completion % opportunities to grow some confidence. I could go on and on an on.

It's really pretty shocking how hard it's been to field a serviceable, let alone good, QB
Peasley was in an NFL training camp and played pretty well there. It’s not that other teams have good QBs but Wyoming just doesn’t; it’s that we have a current scheme that doesn’t set up any QB for success. The old Bohl scheme similarly wasn’t set up for a lot of passing success but was setup to keep games close and give the Pokes a chance in most games.
