Post season Awards

With the regular season over, who do you see winning the postseason awards?

I see Boise going for the sweep...
Coach - Leon Rice
Player - Derrick Marks
Newcomer - James Webb III

Freshman - mehh... No real standouts this year that made huge impacts.
Thoughts?

Defensive Player - Not sure still debating and checking stats out
Newcomer - agreed
Freshman - David Collette is in strong position to grab that one.

It will be interesting to see where the votes go, As much as I would love to see Nance get anything I think mono sealed his fate on any individual accolades. He should still be all defensive team and 1st team. Adams will probably be second team but outside of that unless there was an accolade for Ice in their veins from the stripe that would go to Grabau and imo he needs something to recognize that type of free throw shooting.

Collette makes sense. Especially with their strong finish in the standings.
I also agree that defensive player of the year is a tough one. Wyoming and San Diego state both have excellent team scoring defense, but there's no single player that I know of who totally dominates in a defensive statistic (like aj west and offensive rebounds)

Hard to argue the major awards. Webb came outta nowhere...like no MW player I've seen in a long time. From fringe athlete to 2nd-team All-MW. Coach Rice was an obvious choice by winning the regular season title without Drmic. Marks was phenomenal this season, but an argument could be made for how bad Wyoming looked without Nance. He is truly a "valuable player". But Marks was great and Boise is the #1 seed so I get it.

I was wondering that myself. I watched a bit of the cs-ewe-USU game last night and wasn't impressed at all with Bejarano and he was a non-factor in both of the games against us.

These "awards" are from a select group of media - as the media has been eliminated from the "official" voting for post season awards (first time - this year). So it isn't worth the paper it is written on, unfortunately. It would be like us WyoNation posters putting together the post-season awards. The official post season awards come out in a few + days.

Overall, BSU will sweep the COY (Rice), POY (Marks), and NOY (Webb). FOY will be Collette since Vaughn has missed so much time, although he would have won it if he stayed healthy.

I think Adams is a lock for 3rd team. They only go based off of conference games don't they? He pretty much went off during conference games.
