Pokes in the Pros: Week 1

One of the biggest underdogs of the National Football League’s Week 1 slate pulled off the upset on Sunday. Arizona went into Los Angeles and toppled the Chargers, 26-14.
Former University of Wyoming safety, Andrew Wingard, played a large role in the shocker. He was all over the field, boasting two turnovers – an interception and a forced fumble – to go alongside his four tackles, two tackles for loss and one pass defended.
Arizona hosts Seattle in Week 2.

Below is a list of all the former Wyoming Cowboys and how they did in the opening week.

Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills)
Allen dazzled as he almost always does in the Bills’ 36-31 win at Houston. He was 20-for-29 for 324 yards with two touchdowns. Allen added 23 yards on six carries with two more scores.
The Bills open their new stadium on Thursday Night Football against Detroit.

Marcus Epps (Philadelphia Eagles)
Epps enjoyed a tremendous day in the Eagles’ 24-22 win over Washington. He piled up seven tackles.
Philadelphia travels to Tennessee in Week 2.

Carl Granderson (New Orleans Saints)
Granderson made his presence felt in the Saints’ 31-30 loss at Detroit on Sunday. He made two tackles and also registered a sack, a tackle for loss and a quarterback hit.
New Orleans travels to Baltimore in Week 2.

Treyton Welch (New Orleans Saints)
Welch played in the Saints’ 31-30 loss at Detroit. He participated in 16 snaps, 10 on offense and six on special teams.
New Orleans travels to Baltimore in Week 2.

Frank Crum (Denver Broncos)
Crum began his season in Denver on the injured reserve list. The Broncos lost at Kansas City, 31-10.
Denver hosts Jacksonville in Week 2.

Caden Barnett (Chicago Bears) and Evan Svoboda (Los Angeles Chargers) are both on their respective team’s practice squads. John Michael Gyllenborg (Kansas City Chiefs) suffered a season-ending injury in fall camp.
