This is a good pick-up for the Pokes. DC seems to like his receivers to have good height. I believe that both Robertson and Josh Doctson both have the skills to see the field as true freshman at the WR position.

The info I have on him is that he is an Andre Johnson type.
Tall and physical 6'4 218.
Big and strong.
Can jump.
Very slow. Never ran away from defenders.
68 receptions, 1,490 yards, 25 TDs.
4 rushing TDs.

Not to piss off anyone but heard some people questioning his talent or lack of talent due to North Texas and Wyoming being his offers & with "interest" from TCU according to a story (I believe it's on chron.com from Houston Chronicle).
I also heard the article about him called a "puff piece".

I hope he does well and is a good guy that can prove any doubters wrong.

Sounds more like what David Leonard was while here. Not the fastest guy, but great hands and a reliable reciever. Also, good height too. I can live with that.

I like it, he looks like a big physical target. My own personal style, I like big guys that can get first downs, move the chains, keep drives alive, and produce in the red zone.

Little fast guys have their part as well, but I like a big reliable target. This guy runs track so he probably is faster than he looks, especially if he has a long stride.

Another nice get by DC and staff way to go!

After watching the video the second time I noticed many times he is getting the ball on 3rd or 4th and long. I like it.

As far as he running track, I saw his track team photo from last year on his school's site.
On TXRunning.com I saw 5 of his stats.

From March of 2010 I saw 2 marks for 200 metres. 23.45 & 24.64.

High jumped 5-10.

Long jumped 20-2.5. Or 6.1595 metres.

I was thinking of it in terms of my personal bests in the 200 metres and Long Jump versus his marks to get an idea of what he has done.
And I had to convert the feet into metres so I could understand it better.

Those 200 m times aren't all the greatest. I was by no means a sprinter in H.S. (primarily a distance guy) and I was running those times in "fun" meets. Let's hope his speed translates better in pads.

Yeah, those track stats aren't the best. I was around the 24-25 second mark in the 200 during repeats as a miler...and I cleaerd 6'2" in high jump, but had a slightly leaner build, at 6'4" and 198....but he looks like he has good hands, and quick acceleration. A great get.

I know what y'all mean about the times. I haven't run a 200m in years. But just last year I had a 52.73 for 400 metres (so a 26.368 200m avg.) so I'd be right behind him. But I also remember having a 54.33 last year too. I had a 54.58 indoors. Those were my 3 shortest races last year. I may be able to catch him. :)

The last time I Long Jumped was 2 times in '98 when I just kind of winged it. I nearly hurt an ankle and decided to stick only to running. But I've got a LJ pb farther than his.

And a college sophomore volleyball girl I know who sometimes works out at one of the tracks I sometimes train at is jumping 6 feet even out there because she loves the HJ so much. She is 6 feet tall, so she easily clears her own height.

I hope he will get better and be really good. You know how it can be. He's young and he may just be starting. Guess y'all find out. Good luck to him. :thumb:

I haven't had the time to follow much of the recruiting chatter but, I am a little concerned about recruiting lineman (both sides). Anyone have enough free time to give an assessment of what we have, what is in the pipe, and what prospects are out there? I suppose it might be better to start a new thread with a response. Thanks in advance for any info.
