It's the players. They are the problem. Of all the teams in the FBS they are in the bottom 95%. At least that's how I read DC evaluating it.
Why bother throwing the ball when you can run at will on this defense? We have some solid players in the secondary, so why test them when you can manhandle our defensive line with no trouble at all? I'm still saying that we need a coach in here that will motivate this defense to kick some ass!fromolwyoming said:Pass defense at 37th? Wow. Considering how Toledo and Idaho diced us up, I'm surprised.
Not some, most of the players are not motivated by this staff. We have access to the same player pool as everyone else. So is the problem they can't evaluate their talent, can't coach them to their potential, or really do not give a crap about them once they show up on campus. DC doesn't need to worry about his resume, he has Houston in his back pocket... Plus he gets to a bowl game every year. Sure it's Missouri's bowl game and he's only creeping on the sidelines, but he's there!WYCowboy said:So let's get this straight, according to Christensen, the problem is all on the players. If this is true (which I doubt), then the players need some motivation. My observation is the head coach needs to show a little emotion - he's about as emotional as a boulder sitting in a creek. Bottom line is some of the players are not the least bit motivated by this coaching staff. I do not see this as totally being a player problem. The coaches better get to be a little more concerned about what is going on because they aren't exactly building a great resume or performance report.
