I only looked back a few years and while driving, so could be wrong, but even with Bohl I think the record struggles when the opposing team scores 26 or 27+.

It's happened a lot this year. When I get time I'll look at it more closely.

Add up the games won versus teams that finished below .500 on the season. Do the same for games won against winning programs.

You will see why we were on average a .500 bowl eligible program.
