Players staying on the field after game

Nice game but why aren't the players staying on the field after the game so the kids can meet the players and get autographs. Who the hell is going to wait till they shower and change. The whole idea was to meet them while they were still in their uniforms?

Yeah, I am not a fan of this change, but it does make me grateful for the great photos I got in the past with my kids. If anyone knows of any other time an out-of-towner can get photos with the players let us know.

Letting the fans on the field after the game was started by Joe Glenn and evidently died with him....think I'd rather win football games than walk on the field.

That's correct. I sent an email to the UW Athletic Department asking why the change in policy and they said it's the coach's preference. DC wants to get the team into the locker room soon after the game so they can talk about the good, bad and the ugly of the game while it's still fresh in the player's minds. It just shows the difference in style between Joe Glenn and Dave Christensen, nothing more, nothing less.

I guessed as much in another thread. That's fine, I just liked taking pictures with the players. I know the players are available during media day but many of us can't drive 3 hours one way in the middle of the week to make that one event, pictures after the game was so convenient. I wouldn't want to distract the players during the Cowboy Walk, but maybe that is what it's for. I could have my son stand by the railings as they warmup in the background, I dunno. Like I said before, if there is a way for an out of town fan to get pictures with the players please let me know.

I would also take wins over walking of the field for photos, and I think my son would enjoy it more as well. I even wondered last year how weird it would be for the players to stand there and pose with people. Some probably didn't like it, some probably did, until it got slow, then headed into the locker room - that's what I would have done.

PLUS: WE GOT A DECENT STORY OUT OF IT, I STILL TEASE MY DAUGHTER (12YR OLD LAST YR) ABOUT BEING SCARED OF WARD DOBBS, HE SAID SOMETHING TO HER BEFORE THE PICTURE AND SHE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY BACK. A WEEK LATER WARD TALKED THE TALK, THEN BACKED IT UP BY WALKING THE WALK AGAINST TENNESSEE. WATCHING THE HIGHLIGHTS "HEY THAT'S THE GUY YOUR SCARED OF, HEH-HEH-HEH."

I know who started this and I don't really give a $@#^ and yes S^&* For Brains (SFB) I also would like wins over losses (christ that was a stupid statement) which has nothing to do with the team staying after the game to let the kids get close to their hero they saw on the field. WTF is the problem with doing that there were a lot of little kids disappointed Saturday who BTW by Monday couldn't tell who the F%$# won or lost but remembered waiting all game to get on the field to get close to the players.

Who cares about some dumb ass walk from a hotel (which BTW for the cost of that we could have Wild Fire Back) This another Powder River let er Buck nobody gave a crap about that either.

Leave the players on the field after the game what the hell does that hurt.

If you want to be a big time program, you don't do silly post-game circuses like having players stay on the field to mingle with the fans. I can't think of any team in major college football that would allow such dumb behavior in my opinion. We got along just fine before allowing the players/fans on the field post-game and we'll get along fine after it. I was a little kid at Cowboy games in the 80's-90's and I did just fine without it.

Stuff like that makes our program look like a D-III circus.

These players and fans for that matter need a kick in their ass to get this program turned around and this is a part of that.

Come on guys, don't hold back, tell us how you really feel. I love debates when there are people that want the same thing (UW football success) but have strong opposing opinions on how to get there. I thought the connection with the fans is part of what made us unique and maybe a competitive advantage in recruiting (this one thing won't make much difference, but we do need to differentiate ourselves somehow). I think both sides have valid points.

Srew you duh you look like a dIII program what the hell do you know what makes a winning program. WINNING GAMES MAKES YOU A WINNER SHIT HEAD WHAT YOU DO BEFORE AND AFTER THE GAME DOESN"T MEAN SHIT

'What you do before and after the game doesn't mean shit..." spoken like a true winner. I'm 100% sure all the best players in any sport said the same thing.
I never claimed to know what makes a winning program. But I do know that not caring about what you do before and after the game is what got us here in the first place. Winning games starts with what you do before the game, through the game and how you end it.

Wow, WyNative. Very nice posts. Unfortunately, all fan bases have thier dickheads. You wouldn't be from Sheridan would you? Been having a lot of trouble with Sheridan coaches and fans lately.

If I was a bettin' man, which I am, I would be willing to place $$ down right now, saying that at least 1/4 of the posts on this thread were alcohol induced.
