Play calling in the second half absolutely mystifies me

We carve them up for 350 in the air in the first half, and we completely take the air out of the ball in the second half. Shockingly, we managed not to score at all. Then, with 5 minutes to go and a 5 point lead, THAT'S when we decide to throw on first down, give up a sack, and sweat this one out? Seriously. I don't get it. Play to bury them, not hang on for dear life. Thank god our D showed up today.

I also noticed it was after Brett took that vicious late hit that we didn't throw the ball much. Not completely sure he was playing with a full deck after that hit...

Not going to lie only being able to listen to the game and not watch it the 3rd q out me to sleep. I'll never understand the just playing not to lose instead of just going for the juggler. I mean there are a number of games I can think of we could have blown up and ended in the 3rd but instead we coast in the 3rd, get smashed in the 4th and win by a FG at the end or in OT.

Was at my mom's (her birthday today, felt like crap), caught most of the game though. And still wondering why we didn't continue to carve them up through the air. Big plays everywhere in the 1st half, and then the second, our last comes off a 66 yard run by Miller. Doubled our entire offensive production in the 2nd half with that run.

I'm not sure how anyone could be mystified by the 2nd half play calling as it was 100% consistent with DC's entire time here (SDSU last year is the most clear example). I don't think we will ever blow out anyone, unless we get some defensive scores in a 2nd half of a game. At least we won and Brett continues to amaze.

A former UNLV player seated behind me leaned over and said, "Your team's problem is that your QB isn't the most talented player on the field, he's the most talented person on the field. For that matter, that's our team's problem too." Perhaps it was just the beer, but I thought that was pretty profound...

On the brighter side, the CJC tailgate must've drawn around 200 people. Beautiful day, lots of fun, and, as usual, Las Vegas loved to see all the Wyoming fans.

Agree. Been saying that since DC stepped on the job - Day One.

Somebody asked last week...something to the effect of WTF goes on at halftime in the UW locker room. My TIC response was BONG HITS, PIZZA, & BEER. Now my own words really have me wondering. We continually come out and piss down our legs in the second half. I fucking hate the mentality to play not to lose.

We play prevent offense. Which most times prevents us from winning. I literally have screamed at the TV the last two games as we have made terrible teams look like BCS teams in the second half. I am all for making adjustments at half but shouldnt adjustments help us...not hurt us....
