We are three 3 scrimmages in and Pittser is quickly catching onto this offense. Smith had X amount of spring practices to get ahead of Pittser and everyone is naming Smith the starter. I am not ready to do so. Pittser went 8-12 today with a touchdown he continues to get better and better. Watch out for Pittser because he is coming. The sports writers are saying there is only a battle for the back up position. I call BS

Even if he doesn't start this year, he will have a chance next year.

Christiansen said we should be able to figure out who the starter is. Smith. He has more experience in the playbook, ran the spread in High School and has performed better in both practice and scrimmages.

I'm a huge Pittser fan, but I don't think he has a good enough grasp of the offense to start. He'll get better and there may be a day when he becomes the starter, just not this day.

What a funny post. I didn't know you were in charge of naming starters for the Poke's, I guess I didn't get the memo. The sports writers are saying Smith because DC basically named him the starter after the scrimmage. After 4 yrs in HS running this same type of offense and spring ball it would be hard for a kid who ran a single wing in HS to pull past him with the limited time he's had to learn it. His time will come. Just not now and that's ok. Smith gives the team the best chance for success right now.

Take out the "names" ... it doesn't matter who it is, put the guy in place that gives us the opportunity to roll into our 10/22 bye week at 5 & 1.
