Peace Out Alex Bush

Looks like Alex is gone. At least, looks that way on the interwebs. What a shame. I was pretty high on this kid and it looks as if he is shopping around for a landing spot. The balmy Laramie weather the past several weeks must have gotten to him.

One of the big recruits from last year.

At this juncture, any and all players are replaceable. We are starting with a bare frame/foundation.

What sucks though, is that often times these guys give up D1 school opportunity (and a great education more than football even), for that dream to play football. Many would rather go to Wamsutter Citizen College of Arts and play football than stick around and earn a reputable degree.

I am not speculating AT ALL on the reason Bush left. Maybe to join his Uncle Jeb on the campaign trail? I dunno. Anyhoo, next guy, time to step up.

I'm in the process of finding a new school to play ball at, shoot this link around http://www.hudl.com/athlete/757166/highlights/73452389?autoplay=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; …

Sad to see him go. He had a ton of potential.

guy is trying to get folks to retweed his athlete profile? oh boy...I would assume you would have already had a place in mind before leaving?

Everything happens for a reason...including 18 year old football player attrition decisions.

As we have discussed here many times, Wyoming fans have an enormous amount of pride in all things Wyoming. We take it a little personal (well some of us do) when we experience "the quit". Myself included. Part of me wants to lecture and reprimand, the other part of me says to let it go.

Moving on. :?

I wish him the best of luck elsewhere, but I do hope the reason he's leaving is that he felt the workouts were too much or that there were too many people ahead of him on the depth chart, since those would more or less be positives for Wyoming (aka this is just culling of the weak).

Seems strange for a linebacker to leave, especially when the linebacker position is wide open. This kid had a legitimate shot at playing this year. Maybe he felt the level of competition was higher than what he thought. Some players get a little intimidated by the speed of the game. Probably will go the JC route, who knows. Seriously though, it's good that we get the players out of here that are not willing to rough out the weather and hard work that goes into a program, which is in a transition to hopefully become a legitimate program under Bohl. Don't let the door hit ya!

So far, it seems like he's the only departure. Typically after year 1 of a new regime, several players transfer....mostly those who thought they would play more with the coaching change, but did not.
