Wow, what a year for the Cowboys - they are literally in every game, nobody is dominating them. I haven't posted in a while but wanted to set the tone for the last seven games and what's most important at this point the MWC Championship. First, we need to win four or five of the next seven - being in the middle of the pack will help us avoid a first round game and a possible second round against Boise State or SDSU. Look at last years tourney, we were tested against Utah State after a first round bye, which we need to do again - have to have a first round bye. Overtime against Boise St and we win and the close call by 2 points against SDSU. That's with a boatload of seniors and Nance.
2016 - Game Plan: The current players have to step up for the last seven games and I think they will. The chemistry right now is better than its been all year. Papa Shyatt is making the right adjustments (I'm sure I will get hell for that comment) but its true. One thing I would do, is not put the ball in Josh's hands at the end of the game, he doesn't handle it as well as Lieberman and TW3 who are better ball handlers. Put Josh as the SG and put Lieberman and TW3 as the point. Jason is playing fantastic. Herndon is hit or miss, damn it, this kid has potential, he just needs to get out of his head. Did you see him at the free throw line after the missed shot? Mental toughness AH, come on. Justin James is a great recruit and I think he will be a huge asset moving forward - Naughton as well - Gorski needs to really step it up, he has it in him.
Truly amazing when you watch these guys play - if they play like Shyatt wants we will win or go deep into the tourney. I think we can win it, I really do. We were crushed at SDSU last year and beat them at the MWC tourney - I was at both games. This team has a huge heart, they want to win and if the coaching staff can pull it out of them and set the tone, they will shock the entire MWC. We may not hit a 20 game winning season but a banner is our goal every year. Finally, Oregon, yes 18th ranked Oregon lost to UNLV and Boise State - we can ball and these kids need to know that.
