Believe it or not Southern is looking like one of our best wins this season.
CU is shootin themselves in the foot. 11-5 and 1-3 in Pac12 play.
SMU is strugglin. 11-7 overall and 1-2 in CUSA play.
Indiana State is 10-6 but a decent 3-2 in MVC.

And southern... is 12-6 and 6-0 in SWAC games.
But they are also...11-1 in their last 12 and on an 8 game win streak.
God we need every one of those teams to win their conference tourneys, so at last minute we get a good bump in the rpi.

Also, NC Central is a decent 10-7 with a 3-0 record in the MEAC

Definitely have to start winning. Everyone is afraid of being that 5th place MWC team, and more so the 6th. Seems like the team whose bubble will be popped is whichever team drops too many games against AFA, FSU, and UNR. RPI ratings will be earned by wins against the Big 3, and they'll be devastated by losses to the Bottom 3. That's the key for UW. Play consistent ball, pull out a few upsets, and absolutely do not lose to the Bottom 3, or at least go 5/6.

Denver is decent now, 8-2 in their last 10 after a 1-5 start and they are now 5-1 in the WAC but I have a feeling Utah State takes it to them and DU has no real chance at the WAC tourney, but who knows.

We should have scheduled Indiana State. However, our win over the last place in the MVC and 0-5 Illinois State doesn't look very good.

I think we gotta 6/6 against the bottom 3 (Nevada, Fresno St., Air Force)

And 2/4 or 3/4 against the other 2 in the middle 3 (Wyo, Boise St., CSU)

and 3/6 or 2/6 against the top 3 (SDSU, UNLV, NM)

I actually think DU has a pretty decent shot in the WAC. It is basically a 3 team race in that league (DU, LT, USU). All of them have taken care of business against the rest of the league thus far. DU lost a close game in Ruston, but I expect the result to reverse in Denver. I think DU/USU probably split during the regular season as well.

Probably a one bid league, even with USU's gaudy record.

Our resume is not really tourney worthy right now, but playing in the MWC we have plenty of opportunities for quality wins and RPI/SOS building matchups.

What in the hell happened to Illinois State? They had such a nice OOC record and then fell apart. Think I read where one of their players was suspended for conduct detrimental to the team. They are still a good team, but the wheels have fallen off.

This is one of the worries to have about the Pokes.

Yeah, it is a possibility. But, think that since we've gone 2-1 (2 road wins and a buzzer beater loss to a HOT shooting team) w/out Martinez, we'll weather the storm. The MWC schedule will be tough, but I think we'll still finish above .500.
