OT: UW Enrollment Down 2%

Two words-

Oil. Rigs.

Although it pays well, stay in school peeps.

There is nothing wrong with working on the rigs and the skills learned are probably much better than some random liberal arts degree with no available jobs. My advice would be to save and invest the money wisely should you choose to work in the oil fields.

Isn't the number Of rigs in Wyoming down by quite a bit? If oil rigs were the problem, enrollment would be up

True, but the question was why enrollment was down. I have lots of family who work on the rigs, I ain't saying don't do it. Jobs in Wyoming could be hurting enrollment. I am just saying, if you start school, finish.

If nothing else, work...save money...go back.

The money is pretty tempting. I worked a rig one summer in Nodak back in the day. Saved cash, never took out a student loan for that year or the next. (I also saved before I started school..)

I'll keep my BA and MA degrees over that job in a heartbeat. If someone need to learn work ethic, that's a good place to learn... I had and still have a good work ethic, so I didn't need it for that reason.
