OT: The Wheatland Tornado today

I had a blast this afternoon. Cloud hadn't been there more than 20 minutes before the tornado dropped. Several homes were destroyed or damaged along with a bunch of barns and several irrigation center pivots. My ground ranged from an inch of rain to 2 with a shit ton of hail. Amazingly I can't find any dents in my truck with hail the size of my fist falling for almost 20 minutes.

I always thought I would feel scared being a quarter mile from a tornado but the only thing I felt was bad for the homes and property of people I know getting hit by it. Now I really want to go chase more
 
I was wondering if you managed to survive the tornado.. good to see you and your farm are okay!

If you go chase, make sure you have a good team of people with you. Many of the common radar systems that people for some reason rely on have a fairly long delay, so you may be much closer or much further away from the tornadoes than you realize. One of my co-workers went chasing a month ago in Nebraska and Kansas with a few friends that know what they're doing, and he said the only reason they didn't drive straight into where one touched down was that they had really good up-to-date information, along with the driver having a Ph.D. in meterology so he knew how to interpret it all as well.

Yep we are all fine. Went and looked earlier and there is a lot of property damage. Turns out we lost some crops as well. Tornado went right over a field of corn we are doing custom for a guy. It didn't flip his pivot but it actually moved the towers so it looks bad. There was one pivot that was fairly new that it actually took and twirled it around into a ball like spaghetti on a fork. There are real houses that are completely gone :thumbdown:

I know I don't want to chase tornadoes.
I've been through enough tornadoes and hurricanes and all that so I never want to be in them or chase them.
I've been out on foot training when that danger was too near.
Very scary stuff.
A lot of my family have storm shelters.

There are some guys who my friend and I would hear talk a lot about certain things and when we'd say OK then prove it right here right now they wouldn't do it.

We laughed at them but each for a different reason.
I only kid you.......
But yeah the guys who'd talk BIG and then let you down when cornered.......

Think I'll go run for an hour now........

That's what happens when you have 7 days off and the most epic fishing day rolls around and I'm out finishing a patio, getting fencing quotes....etc etc.

and this video, does it have a script or am I just suppose to wing it? Snowflake, a little help? Co-star, executive producer?
