Off-season topic.....outside of collegiate athletics, what sports teams, if any, do you root for?

Mine......

NFL: Carolina Panthers - Being raised young in Hawaii, there are no pro teams in sight or even any "regional" teams....so most islanders either pick randomly or choose the teams that appear on T.V. all the time (49ers, Lakers, etc.) I chose the Panthers, just to be different. Been a fan since its inception.

NBA: Chicago Bulls - Obviously influenced by the Jordan era.....stuck with them even when they were god-awful.

MLB: Los Angeles Angels - Completely random pick.....no method to it.

MLS: Seattle Sounders FC - SSFC has a major following throughout the state of Washington....I've followed since the beginning, which was only 3 years ago. I probably follow this team more than any other pro team.

NFL-Packers for me. Growing up, all I ever heard was "denver this, Denver that," and it came to a head in the Packers/Bronco's Superbowl. I and one other kid in my class (I was about 12 years old at the time) cheered for the Packers, and the rest cheered for the Donkeys. Been a Packers fan partially out of spite of the Donkeys and partially out of respect for the program ever since.

NBA-Don't follow it, and haven't since Jordan retired from the Bulls.

MLB-I depsise basbeall. But if anything, I'll root for any team playing the Rockies, for pretty much the same reason that I don't root for the Donkeys, spite.

NFL - Pittsburgh Steelers. I hate the donkeys with a passion for the same reason fromolwyoming does. I picked up on Pittsburgh because I like the way Neil O'Donnel threw the ball when I was a kid (finger on the tip of the ball). I tried to throw it that way for a long time, but never could get anything but end-over-end.

NBA - Not a fan of the NBA, but I pull for the Nuggets

MLB - Rockies all the way. Been to a ton of games, and I used to go over to my Grandpa's house all the time to watch them when I was a kid. Some of the best memories ever.

MLL - Colorado Mammoth. I used to coach lacrosse, and these guys were great about doing clinics and giving us deals on tickets to bring the kids to the games.

Broncos.

Rockies (I was in junior college in Colorado during their inaugural year.) & the Nationals a little since they are close.

I make it a point to ignore the NBA and NASCAR and never got hooked on hockey.

I should also add that I found a bit of a fascination with Canadian Football. Helped me stay sane while recovering form my knee surgeries.

I'm a very regional kind a guy.
NBA- Utah JAZZ, I couldn't get enough of Stockton, Malone, Hornacek and Bryant

NFL- Denver Broncos, Elway, Davis, McCafferey, Rod Smith...All fav's

MLB- Not a big fan of baseball, But I like Colorado Rockies, i've gone to a couple of games.

NHL- Colorado Avs. Even before they were good enough to even try for the Stanley.

College FB/BB- Wyoming Cowboys.

Its a hard sport to follow......162 games is a lot. And then when the games really matter, it happens to be football season.

MLB - Chicago Cubs (Thanks to WGN on Laramie cable and afternoon baseball. Every day I'd get home from school and the cubs would be on around the 7th inning) I now take a yearly trip to Chicago to watch the Cubs.

NFL - Chicago Bears - probably because I was a cubs fan and the '85 bears team kicked ass!

NBA - Chicago Bulls (don't watch a lot of NBA anymore) Big fan of MJ.

NHL - Vancouver Canucks - Was getting into hockey in the mid 90's and liked the canucks jerseys - watched them play in the final again NY Rangers (lost game 7) - that was the first time I watched the Stanley cup finals.

Nfl: Broncos/Jaguars spent all of elementary in jacksonville, and born in wyo, and i learned about football mid
90's.

Nhl: Avs and Panthers see above

Nba: Nuggets and can root for Sixers every once in a while

Mlb: Rockies and Marlins

I figure I better add to mine.
High School Football: Rock Springs Tigers, Larned Indians, Kemmerer Rangers, Hodgeman County Longhorns
High School Basketball: Rock Springs Tigers, Larned Indians, Pawnee Heights Tigers,

NFL-Denver Broncos.
NBA- Nuggies
NHL- Avs
MLB- Rockies
MLS-Rapids
UFC- Shane Carwin, Donald Cerrone
Ya, I'm a regional guy. Can't stand people who are huge steelers fans and huge LA Lakers fans at the same time.

I'm annoyed by those who claim to be Miami Heat fans......because you were there during the rough times too, right?

MLB- Rockies, always had a soft spot for Brewers and their cool name. Pirates because they stink so bad.
NFL- Steelers
NHL- Penguins
MMA- The deaf guy and Marquart (lander) and I believe a kid from Green River just won a UFC fight.
International Soccer- it was really cool to see the US beat Italy the other day. Like watching US in Olympics and World Cup. Will watch English Premier league when Dempsey is on TV. I liked watching the Euro Cup the other year. I've been a long time soccer hater, but somehow it's found a way into my heart.

Same here......soccer is not as bad to watch once you get used to it and understand the game. That win at Italy was huge, and without Donovan at that.

I jumped on the soccer bandwagon myself during the world cup, and somewhat when Real Salt Lake won the MLS a few years back (was living there).

I got really into Aussie Rules when I lived in SLC. Didn't have cable but one of the stations I got on the rabbit ears aired one or two games a week. Had a friend from Adelaide so I pulled for them.

I don't really watch any other sports.

I have a friend whom I am sure appreciates anyone who watches Shock games.
