OT- MWC tourney title Fresno v SDSU

I just wanted to say go dogs tonight! Our only chance at having 2 MWC teams in the tourney and I like what Fresno has been doing. Nice to see a near bottom dweller rise to the top and help our conference out. They haven't been really good for a long time, but they put out pros and have great athletes. They always seem to play D too, that's a good trait.
 
This has been a fun 1 to watch! Both teams super athletic and playing D. Dunks galore! How are we gonna close the gap on some of these bigs??? Fresno's bigs are awesome. SDSU is SDSU.
 
That game was eirily similar to our game last year. Except they scored a few more points. When Lewis hit that three at the 1 min mark to put Fresno up 2 and then the free throws at the end by a guy that shoots in the 60 percent range ( a little better percentage than cooke). I had to watch the highlights of ours again to relive that feeling again. Haha
 
That was a killer championship game yesterday! Loved the intensity and athleticism of those squads. Hope we get 2 teams in the tourney and the MWC needs to get some wins this year. You guys think either Fresno or SDSU could go sweet 16?? Fresno is slated to have 14 seed on ESPN's current bracketology so it might be a tall order but you just have to get past that first game. That is a 14 seed you don't want to play! How come SDSU's wheels fall off in these close games? Their offense is almost solely on dominating you in the paint and with athleticism it seems. They have to shut teams down defensively to win. I'll try to tune in to watch em play if I get a shot.
 
I think they both lose first round, but I trust Fresno to stay hot so I'd pick them to win a game before SDSU
 
Fresno has the kind of bigs that just make me jealous as shit. Those dudes play hard in the paint! That game had some INSANE DUNKS :banana: :banana: :banana: Pope played outta control too. Just a great, great match up. The MWC championship game has been killer the past 2 years. Each year with a team desperately trying to knock off SDSU to keep their season alive and succeeding!!!!! I'll be pulling for both in the tourney. Fresno is kinda of a shit hole city but I have friends from there. I've never had as many issues with SDSU as others so they're easy to pull for. As long as it ain't Air Force, CSU, or BYU it's all gravy in this Poke's bball book!
 
SDSU got screwed...neither Syracuse nor Oregon State could beat them on a good day. I know this was a down year for the MWC, but no way should they be staying home and those two teams go dancing.

I do not believe that any team that finishes either in the bottom half of its own conference or .500 or below in its own conference should receive an at-large bid to the Dance.

SDSU and Monmouth both got screwed. I firmly the believe that teams should eliminate themselves by playing below par in big time conferences. This means that no conference should send more than half of its teams to the Dance (unless a bottom-half team gets the automatic bid via the conference tournament.)

"Strength of schedule" for non-Power 5 conferences is BS because the Power 5 conferences dictate which mid-majors even get to play a decent schedule.
 
Fresno State - 14 seed. Did you see the looks on the FS team's faces when they were announced? Not a smile. No cheering at all. They must have been pissed at the seed.

They must be pissed! That's the lowest seed they ever received in the NCAA Tournament.

Previous lowest seed was # 9, twice (2000 & 2001).

SDSU was the most talented horrible team I've seen in a while. These guys should have won 30 games with that talent. Terrible coaching. I love watching Steve Fisher fail.
