OT: Matt Wells vs UNM

Worst coaching decisions I've seen in a long time.

Mind Boggling Decision #1: Game tied 21-21, 4th and 2 at the 2 yard line with 5 minutes left in the game. Dude chooses to go for the TD instead of taking the sure lead. They don't get it. UNM marches down and gets a FG.

Mind Boggling Decision #2: With the ball around the UNM 35 yard line after an exchange of penalties, USU has a 1st and 25 with 1 timeout left and :16 seconds on the clock. Clock is stopped and set to start at the snap. Dude uses his last timeout for seemingly no other reason than to set up a play.

Mind Boggling Decision #3: USU scrambles (odd choice by the player) into field goal range and rather than spiking the ball and bringing out the field goal unit with plenty of time on the clock, Wells tries to mayday the field goal unit out unto the field, subbing essentially the entire team and they don't get the play off.

Unreal.

Yeah they did, but not legally, they had 13 men on the field, false start and illegal motion all going on. Had that kick been made, there would have been mass penalties.

All in all it was just the strangest way to shoot yourself in the foot that I've seen in a long time.

Unfortunately, it is all speculation. :/ I wish I knew more. From the few sources that I have within the program the locker room is a goner. The problem is is the buyout.

The problem with Matt Wells is his arrogance. He refuses to listen to anyone or anything. I think if Barnes was still around he would be gone.

Thing is after we lost to UNLV it didn't really matter if USU beat UNM. Assuming Boise wins out we have to win out too to be champions now.

Yep. Or hope that both BSU and UNM drop another game. Right now, the Flyboys may be the best bet for that.

And I SO want the Pokes to beat SUDS this coming weekend. Fewer and fewer of their fans on the MWC board are tolerable. Just to get them to shut up for a week or two. Self-entitled borg juniors is what they are.
