One of the many benefits with Allen as coach

I was scanning UK forums about Edwards getting the job, and their fans already talking about scheduling us. There a party in my shorts right now!

I'm also trying to find info on Kentucky grads that are assistants. Kinda slow going, but working on it

Didn't some Florida fans make similar comments when Shy came 5 years ago? There's no way we play UK any time soon...

Party in your shorts? Didn't your mother teach you to not sit on an anthill?

Yes I would rather get shithoused by Kentucky than play William and mary.

I've actually got a funny story about a brother that once sat on an ant hill.

And didn't we go to Florida and lose. I think I remember that.

I wasn't a big fan of Shyatt's teams playing cupcakes and an overrated CU team. Going on the road and getting shit on by Kentucky would actually help the team's rpi and sos more than playing a 300+ rpi team at home. CSU boosted their rpi the other year by doing something like this.

I think the team should look to get a yearly road trip going to a pair of schools that have a rivalry like Duke and North Carolina. It would help recruiting as well to be able to tell kids they're going to play at Rupp arena or Cameron Indoor each year. Duke and UNC would get a common opponent for their fan bases to compare before their first big game of the season and it they would never have to travel to Laramie.

Good post - I agree. No reason Wyoming couldn't and shouldn't take on the road-warrior mentality...play anybody, anywhere. And at some point, UW would start to win a few of those games...

Even if they started a little lower. Play more teams like Cal. Major conference teams who might not be at the top of their conference. The Georgias, Colorados, Stanfords, etc

I get wanting to schedule more stuff at home, and cupcakes are sometimes the only way to do that, but the way to keep the RPI acceptable is to offset the cupcakes with tougher road contests.

We had 0 top-100 RPI wins, and only top-100 nonconference opponents were Cal and Houston. Even still, we had second-highest SOS in MW.

Anything that gets the 'Pokes out East. Purely selfishness, but they should schedule Dayton, Wright State, Cincy and Xavier.

Let's play Kentucky as long as we can schedule a return game at Pepsi in Denver, worth a shot
Why would we schedule a game at Pepsi Center? We don't play at the Pepsi Center. We play in Laramie at the AA. IF we are going to go get our tails whooped, they can come here the next year.

Because there is no way in hell Kentucky would ever come to Laramie. Probably a minute chance of them even coming to Denver, but maybe at least a chance.

So, because there is no way in hell they'll come to Laramie, the implication is that they would come play at Pepsi Center? haha. Never going to happen. Were Wyoming. Were not a national draw. Its more likely they'd play us in Casper than it is in Denver. Haha. This board.

Their is a more significant chance they would come to Denver. Why? Because they probably have a good number of fans in the front range where as they have very few fans in Laramie/Cheyenne. Also, if they were to play at the Pepsi Center they would be promised a percentage of the gate in addition to a set price to come play us, which in and of itself would probably be quite significant. Finally, it would be a neutral site as opposed to an away contest at 7,220 feet where many teams have difficulty playing succesfully. Before you say that Denver is at 5280, I'm aware, but physiologically and psychologically, the difference between 5280 and 7220 is quite significant.

This wasn't some random spouting for the sake of it, it is an honest assessment. There is zero chance Kentucky would come play in Laramie (unless we give them an un-Godly amount of money), and while there is a very slim chance they would play us in Denver, there is at least a chance.

Haha fair enough. I am not going to argue with your assessment but I will stand by my thought that it would NEVER happen. The only way Wyoming will ever play Kentucky in Denver is if they meet in an NCAA tournament game.
