One last bball dream in 2016...the MWC Tourney

So we have one last chance to let our emotions and imaginations run wild for this Pokes team. A run to the championship game would be unfathomable in my mind but if it somehow did happen I would be very moved. We're gonna need another level from everyone in order to do this. From player to player to the whole coaching staff, everyone is gonna have to step up their game. If we pull off the seemingly unimaginable we'd make it to the Dance with an 18-17 record ....What would that make us??? A 15 seed??? Shit I'd take a 16 seed and not care. I'll keep dreaming for a few days :wink:

Shyatt has been hiding Mo Marshall the whole season so there is no tape on him. Shyatt starts him in place of Gorski. He and Josh are going to average 25 apiece and we run through the MWC tournament again.

How crazy would it be if our dream run involved this scenario.
First we thrash CSU one more time. The Pokes move onto to face bitter rival SDSU who seem to have our number....expect in the MWC tourney!!! We clip SDSU and move onto......our newest bitter enemy Nevada. Josh Adams extracts ruthless revenge against the team he strongly dislikes. Meanwhile on the other side of the bracket somehow, someway Air Force has made a bubble busting run into the Championship game. The two lowly respected rivals split into one bitter, disciplined winner take all fight for the championship. Wyoming clips this greenie unit as well winning our 2nd straight title. MWC is exposed as weak and SDSU isn't invited to the tourney as we pull one over on them similar to CSU last year.

That's the magic of March. In spring 2016, you can be as good (or bad) as you like in the Mountain West...only one team is going to the dance and it's the team that wins this tournament. Both awesome and hilarious...seriously, none of this regular season shit mattered. Not a second of it. All it did was create seeding. Winner take all. We saw what happened last year, nothing wrong with believing until that clock hits zero and we have the lower number. SDSU is the favorite, but I could see 6-8 teams pulling off a shocker. It happens every year. They call it March Madness, not March "Meh". I'm all for chaos.

I think the Sheep win Saturday and are the 7 seed. We get Utah State in 8 vs 9 game.

This.. if somehow AF beats CSU then I like our chances of ending up in 7th. Fresno and USU play Saturday night and if both CSU and USU lose we end up in 7th. NOt predicting it will happen, just think USU is more likely to lose than CSU so if CSU loses I like our chances.

Or, Marshall is being saved to do a hard foul on the next foe's top player, ending the game for this fouled player. Marshall gets kicked out "for the rest of the season, ha,ha". If Pokes win, then there are a few reserves that have never seen the floor to do the same in the next game. Wow. You know what? Maybe I should be an assistant coach.

That's as well as I know it. Not sure how UNLV, USU, and CSU tiebreakers work out if they all tie at 8-10
