On to Appy State.

What is the surface at Appy State? Grass or turf?

If grass, 5+ inches of rain could really slow this game down and send it between the tackles. Advantage is still clearly with the Mountaineers but reducing the dimensions of the offense will help our young defense. Likely not enough to impact the outcome but might make it closer than expected.
Turf. We have returned to a run heavy offense (wild stat I saw on espn this past weekend, after 10 years of everyone going to the spread, 8 or 9 of the top 15 teams are now pro style).

Also, I know no disrespect was meant, but we prefer just App. I can't speak for everyone but I grimace when people say Appy...it sounds like kid speak to me. Also the locals pronounce the school App-uh-latch-un. The App-uh-lay-shuns are a mountain range.

Anyway, for those who may not know, this game can be seen on ESPN3.com, 3:30est.
Appy Appy Appy Appy!

Aw, c'mon man! Appdiesel was trying to be nice.

I hate to offend unintentionally ... and I bet whoever started this thread meant no offense. Appdiesel was trying to let you guys know where certain "sensitivities" lie.

I was at the game in 2004, and have nothing but good memories, except for the score.

For those who are coming, bring your rain gear. The latest weather report for Boone on Saturday goes something like: "Why is that cat building an ark?" And, yes, our running game does pretty well in the rain.

Torrential downpours? Check.
Rain coming down sideways? Check.
Temps in the 40s? Check.
Whooeee!! It's finally football weather.

As I recall, the Cowboys experience similar weather out there. The game in 2004 included a delay for lightning. Of course, the weather report can change in 15 minutes, and here it is only Wednesday.

Y'all come! You will have fun. The game is another matter entirely.

Was going to come for the tailgating alone, but couldn't make it work. Our #2 RB is out, so I have to think that will affect our running game some. Get ready for a heavy heavy dose of Brian Hill.

I'm just messin. Sounds like "ya'll" have a good team and I'm not looking forward to getting the shyte stomped out of us. I have never been to your neck of the woods and would love to go check it out someday.

Lol its alright, I work in rock radio...i can handle it, and probably would've said the same thing. With as unpredictable as boone weather is, it could be 70 and sunny for game time. It's a roll of the dice.
