....the MWC looks average at best in basketball this season. Big drop off after New Mexico and Boise......Pokes have a chance at 3rd IMO if they can improve this season.

You know when I read this I take it as: There is a big drop off after NM, Boise, Wyo right?

You gotta ear the right to be there with the top of the conference, and we haven't yet. We have the potential to but we haven't proven that we should be with the top of the conference since...Marcus Bailey or so

Utah St. is good as well and San Diego St. is going to still be good. San Diego St. lost to the 6th ranked team in the nation. Wyoming lost to Colorado. We obviously don't know how good of a team each team is yet and we don't know how much each team will improve but I would say Arizona will end up being quite a bit better than Colorado so SDSU won't be easy for Wyoming by any means.

I would say Boise St. , New Mexico, SDSU, Utah St. and Wyoming will be the top 5. Not sure the order but Wyoming will probably be playing for 3rd through 5th place in the conference this year. I do see where Wyoming can improve quite a bit throughout the year and become quite a bit better of team as they play more games together.

I know Sellers isn't the best player on the team but I think getting him back will help a little bit in the front court if nothing more than to have another big body to bring in down low. I think he might have been able to help a little bit in the Colorado game with rebounding when we were playing zone. Colorado got quite a few offensive rebounds and ended up scoring off of them. Sellers isn't the most athletic but he might have been able to get his big body on some of those Colorado bigs and blocked them out.

I do see a lot of upside with this team.

Go Pokes!

I agree with all of this Seattle

Boise hasn't earned anything either IMO.

They were an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament. Something we have done, what, once in the last 25 years?

If we were coming off an at-large bid, returning all of our talent, don't you think you would argue that Wyoming had earned the right to be considered a contender?

In terms of the MWC, I see 4 very good (at-large type) teams in BSU, UNM, USU, and SDSU. Everything else is up for grabs. IMO the Pokes can be a mid-pack team (5th or 6th) after that group. Of course, they could be an 8th or 9th team as well, but I don't think Shyatt will let that happen again.
