One of the reasons I enjoy college athletics a million times more than pro sports, is kids playing for the love of the game. I look back at some of my college heroes and know that they just played because they loved it. Now you throw in stupid things like this which is going to sway recruits to wherever they can get the most payout. This definitely pissed me off

What he said.

I get the general feeling that there is a big bubble forming in college football. I just don't know what's going to be left when the bubble bursts. It is getting to greedy and all of a sudden a bunch of money just seemed to have come out of nowhere.

It feels like a 1914 Europe right now in college football. Just a powder keg ready to blow

Yeah and guess where it'll finally blow.............

Austin, Texas!

We NEVER shoulda had Texas join the United States in 1845. They werre a major part of why we fought the Civil War.

This is a very, very sad day in college sports thanks to the less than useless ncaa and their buddies the b_s. :willybs:

Call me crazy, but didn't anyone read the first few words of the article?

"The NCAA could soon"

Or how about the last few?

"Brian Bennett covers Big Ten and Notre Dame football for ESPN.com"

To me, that means, Brian has little credibility / knowledge on the subject, and is just a writer trying to stir up some shit to keep his job and cushy salary.

As a college student myself, I've always felt athletes have a MAJOR advantage over regular students. Its pathetic how greedy some folks can be.

I do feel tense with TAMU going to the SEC August 22 (so I'm reading on ponyfans and other boards).
That can really hurt struggling programs like SMOO.

And Mr. Wyokie, before Texas joined the USA largely on it's debt as a nation, according to the University professors I learned from, it was about 50% larger geographically and included Laramie.
You know how a lot of us real Texans/Texians are. We are Texans/Texians (as in the Republic of Texas), Texans (as in the State of Texans) and Americans, (as in the USA).
One can get citizenship to one of the Republics of Texas that exists today but I'm not denouncing my American citizenship for it. One should not have to because one should be able to have both. That's all under Free Nations and such. The Repuclic of Texas overlaps in Wyoming with one of the Native Tribes.

However, that was before Wyoming was even a territory, let alone a state (1890).

Oddly enough, Wyoming's Constitution was ratified 100 years to the day on my birthday.
Wyoming Constitution-July 8th, 1889
My Birthday-July 8th, 1989.

And it's official Statehood was July 10, 1890. Shoulda been made a National holiday imho.
