I went to UW and want to see us WIN!
Me personally....I want to see something like I grew up with when Roach, Tiller and Brandenburg were at the helm.
There are a bunch of folks older than me on here...If you put us all in a bucket...I think you have a group of pretty hardcore Poke fans who either grew up in Wyoming or went to school in Laramie or both. I think it would be unlikely to have large numbers in a fan base that are not locals or alums. I suppose ND and BYU might...and there are probably fan bases like Duke basketball that have a slightly higher percentage of hoop-heads that support them because they are always so good.

Grew up in neighboring state. Did attend the university. A fan that wants the Cowboys to win and be successful but still a bigger fan of school that I grew up watching (and also attended). Would be a bigger fan if in the almost 30 years since moving to Laramie if basketball or football had had more than 2-3 good seasons each.

Wyoming born, raised and graduated. Some of my earliest football and basketball memories are of listening to the radio broadcast of Cowboy games with Larry Birleffi announcing. Watched every time Wyoming football or basketball was televised. Been a fan my whole life and season ticket holder for years. Unfortunately growing disenchanted with the state of college sports and the direction of the athletic department.

Grew up in Wyoming, attended UW, contribute $ every year to both the UW Foundation and Cowboy Joe Club. I want to see an excellent university with winning teams in the most popular sports, but would also love to see winning in any sport!

From Casper, Wyoming and proud to be from there, never attended UW but wanted to but no $$$, live in Oklahoma where football is king.
All I want outta UW....are football championships and having 9-10 wins per year, making top 25 a norm instead of once in 50 years. Football pays the bills. Basketball is a sideshow IMHO.

Born and raised in Laramie and either went to the game every Saturday or listened to the band and PA announcer from home while jumping on the trampoline. Went to UW for undergrad and then out of state for the last 8 years, but T-minus 70 days or so until we make the move back. I am extremely excited!

Born in Wyoming, went to UW, went to games since a kid in the 60’s with season tickets from the 80’s until 2013.
Moved away to be near ailing parents and missed the renewing deadline in 2013 due to a focus on other events in life. Was a top 10% points earner over all those years but lost all my CJC season ticket points because of that one slip up so that ended my donations and renewals. I now do 1-2 games a year. This year it’s at Akron. Maybe I will ad lib and do a home conference game if the team looks promising. Last year I gave away tickets and canceled my travel for the UNT and AFA games after watching the pummeling in ASU.
Seen too much Wyoming football to be blind to bad play. My direct support is influenced by success anymore. No more being in love with my team to go no matter what.
Used to live for hoops and would do weekday trips from Denver. Quit doing that after Schroyer season 1 and sporadically afterwards. Only been to the AA once since the remodel. Not enjoyable anymore with low expectations for both programs.
I will always be a loyal but distant fan. My kids are alumni and love Wyoming but we have all moved away and rarely get to Laramie because it’s not the enticing draw playing to finish 5th or lower in either sport.
Don’t like being negative but I have my doubts I will live long enough to see the next run of glory if it happens at all. I guess that’s what is called a bandwagon fan.

This is my current trajectory. I’ve never seen a school so aggressive to destroy loyalty and interest.
Born and raised in WYO. UW grad. Work back in state when I can. Watched competitiveness creep away from us and it's been terrible to watch. The passive approach has been frustrating, but, in the new age, I'm not sure I want us to do what it takes to win at the g5 level. Take from taxpayers and students to give to mercenary players.

Grew up in Casper. Two degrees from UW. My first game in 1969 beating San Jose State. I contribute way too much it seems now to Cowboy Joe Club. Got premier seats at the War, but my attendance last year dropped off the cliff. For example this year, I am not sure I will be going to the CU game in Boulder I don't want to witness a beat down with my Colorado relatives. Like to see an excellent AAA+ university with winning teams. Live in Douglas County, Colorado for nearly 40 years now.

I used to be big into UWyo sports. But over the years, it wore me down. We could never quite get to 10 wins, and then NIL and the transfer portal came into play, and that just pushed me over the edge. Its tough to care anymore
This isn’t what college sports were meant to be. When this all started a hundred years ago, it was about representing your school, your community, and something bigger than yourself. Now, it feels like universities , especially public ones, are being taken advantage of by greedy people, networks, corporations. They've hooked their claws into our state treasuries and are bleeding us dry under the guise of "student-athlete empowerment."
The non stop blast of ad's everywhere you go. Can't take a leak without some advertisement above the urinal.
It’s not right. It's terrible to watch what's happening to something that used to bring people together. It was awesome to see the state compete at a national level. Now its just all about the almighty dollar. I used to not watch pro sports because of the greed. Now they seems pretty level headed with their salary caps and regulated level playing fields. College is whack!
The cinderella stories won't happen again. There's no point in fielding teams anymore at this level. Its no longer a bout a free education, pride, and bragging rights. Its just filth.

I don’t like to have to tell on myself but here’s my story. I was born in Gillette back when it had only one paved street. I grew up in Wheatland pre power plant. Grew up a huge Cowboy fan attending games whenever I could. I always expected that when the time came I would attend UW. Then Disaster. The summer before my senior year my family moved to North Dakota. So when it was time to go to University my legal residence was North Dakota. UND resident tuition was a fourth of UW nonresident tuition. So I went to UND. The only good thing about it was that I became a huge hockey fan. UND has something like eight national championships, two of them while I was there. I remained a fan of Cowboy football and basketball the whole time and was very happy when I moved back to Wyoming so I could attend games again. Why do we even have college sports? I think it can be a source of pride for the students as well as the whole state. It’s entertainment especially in states like Wyoming where there isn’t much else. Will these things still be true with the changes that are occurring? I guess only time will tell.
First exposure to UWYO was grinding them to national championships in old-school college football games. lol

The University took a shot on me when I wasn't academically qualified for admissions to graduate school, but accepted me anyway, and I thrived. While a grad student, offered a graduate assistantship which paid for my entire tuition, fees, and housing. I owe UW more than I can articulate in words. I give what I can to this day, but it's getting harder.
Loved my time in Laramie. Got to see the Larry Nance / Josh Allen era of Wyoming sports. Even stumbled into a tattoo shop in Vegas the night we won the MWC tournament. I have a permanent steamboat on my shoulder. I am damn proud to be a Wyoming Cowboy.
I want to see us win, because the students deserve a good athletic product. So does the state. I've lived in several states, and there are few states that ride for the brand like Wyoming does. It's a shame where UW sports are right now.
