No W-Y-O Chant

There was no such cheer on Saturday  This could literally be the only way to get the west side of the stadium engaged. We need to do it

The students need to initiate this cheer. All it takes is a few committed kids to get it going. Unfortunately, too many student don't know it like we did back in the day. Sad really...best cheer we had/have.

Go Pokes!!

Or cheerleaders could get off their asses and do it. With big signs, too.

That, but the cheerleaders struggle with this cheer too. When I was in school, it was always the fans starting it....not the cheerleaders and not the PA announcer.

There was literally NOTHING to cheer about in the first 3 quarters of this game. The first quarter alone took nearly an hour. We were back out at tailgate park with 5 minutes left to go in the first quarter.

The team has to do something besides show up in order for the crowd to get pumped up. I'm sick and tired of showing up for every home game, expected to cheer boisterously for a crappy performance. WooHoo!!! Participation!!! Maybe we'll be good in three years!!!

Then, when we finally did score, we botched the extra point.

It's going to be a long year. I'll be there, but don't expect me to like it. Or be sober.

They (the cheer leaders) did it before the game started - while the band and cheer leaders were lined up waiting for the team to come out. I yelled as loud as I could, but most people around me didn't seem to care or be paying attention.

Sad really - as that was one of my favorites growing up

The W Y O cheer has been unfortunately absent for so long that the student section does not get it. It didn't reverberate like it once did. The student section needs to be taught the cheer and I suspect that many of the fans that once were on the west side are no longer with us. It has been that long. The token attempt is that just token and the cheerleaders don't get it either. Too bad!!!

The biggest issue is the lazy lower west sidelines and even lazier lower bowl in the AA. The cheerleaders get out their W-Y-O signs before every game, yet nobody except for about half the students and 10% of the other fans participate. I also don't understand why people bash the students for not singing cowboy joe, yet they are much more vocal than those on the other side of the stadium who only stand and clap. Typically, the one section of visiting fans is louder than all the other west sections combined.

this fan base is truly sad anymore, there's really no excitement by them watching all the students cheer for is that damn beer song, aaaargh
