No respect. We are +16 1/2 at San Diego st.

Not too surprising. We haven't beaten anyone and the Utah State loss is looking worse as they continue their losing ways. SDS has wins against air farce and Washington state.

I feel this is the week the team has to be competitive if they want to make anything of this season. Another blowout could lead to a quick 3 game losing streak before we get new mexico. I'm not saying we have to win, just be in the game going into the 4th quarter. We gave up a ton of points to these guys last year. Hopefully, the defense will have some kind of scheme to slow them down. I'm guessing DC will try and get the running game going to shorten the game and keep the defense off the field.

Anyone know if Hillman will be 100%?

Got to make Lindley beat Wyoming.......stack the box and try and slow down Hillman.

Well I hope Wyoming wins but if I'm being realistic about it I think that San Diego St. will probably cover that just because Wyoming's defense is so bad. Wish I could say different but I can't.

Can't really blame the oddsmakers on that one. I thought Utah St. was a good team, but that doesn't look to be true. How do we lose to that team on that field by 44 and La Tech wins?

I don't know. Their D isn't any better.

I'm thinking that 13 of the 16-1/2 are just from the SDSU speed alone. Unfortunately they are going to burn the Pokes if they get thru the line. The trick will be to keep em from doing that. But I don't think English is enough of a magician for that trick. The answer, of course is to match them offensively. Bu slow offensive people against fast defensive people - who wins that match?

Power football. That is the weakness of the 3-3-5 defense. Then again, their defense has never really stopped us much the last couple of years. And that was with a horrible O-line. 30 points in 2009 and 38 last year. And with added size on the D-line (the recent moves), our D-line shouldn't be moved so much, especially since SDSU's O-line is actually kind of small.

SDSU's O line is very good. They're probably the second best we have seen this year to date after Nebraska. I hope the D-line changes and the return of Purcell allow them to hold up better, but I want to actually see it happen before I proclaim it as fact.

Who are these slow offensive people you speak of? I really doubt our offense is slower than their defense. The other side of the ball is where I am concerned.

The Aztecs D isn't a top 20 defense by any means but they are far better than Wyoming's D.

Until Wyoming proves to me different then I won't believe it. Like I said, I hope Wyoming wins but I'm not going to fall for us shutting down a pathetic UNLV team as a way to make me believe our defense has turned the corner.

If they slow down SDSU this game then I will believe they are starting to turn the corner. I hope they prove it to me.

I think we all know the answer, we are just too afraid to face it.....

No respect? None earned to this point in the season. Prove them wrong is all the Pokes can do.

Ageed. Until proven otherwise, smart money is SDSU - 17, and the over.

I'd have to agree until proven otherwise.

HOWEVER, I think the UW defensive problems are coaching, not personnel, which means they can be fixed. It would appear CDC is medling with the defense....the D-line changes alone are too smart for English to make on his own.

We can all take comfort knowing that we always show up to play and play well following a bye week....

Oh wait.

 My thoughts exactly. I hope things were done differently and attitudes are different this time around, but we'll see.

I tend to think the opposite. Not that I'm trying to defend English, because I absolutely detest the, "10 yard cushion on every play," defense that he runs, but we are very undermanned in the front 7. At some point you just need to have the horses up front regardless of scheme and I don't think we do.

The line has already moved to +18. I hope we can prove some people wrong this saturday. If there has been a trend this year, the heavy favorites have been covering. So it's easy to see why the money is going on SDS.

My early pick for saturday: Air farce -31 at New Mexico. New Mexico is #1 in the ESPN bottom ten and until they can lose a game by less than 42, you HAVE to bet against them.

What's your thought on the Va Tech-Duke game? I only ask because I see the moneyline appeared to be... low in favor of Va Tech; last I checked around -700.

If I bet on spreads, and I stress here that I don't, I may look at betting Duke to cover at +14.

I don't bet spreads. Just an observation from seeing the moneyline.

I bet moneylines occasionally. Va tech at -700 looks about right based on a 14 pt line. At -18, SDS is -900 v.Wyo. The spreads on moneyline bets can really get wacky. As the lines get bigger, the moneyline spreads (if they even offer them) get ridiculous. I see Air farce is -12,500 and New mexico is only +5000.
I can't imagine anyone putting up 12,500 to win a 100.

The only moneyline that intrigues me is K-state +380 at home against Oklahoma. Pretty good odds on an undefeated team. Maybe K-state isn't that good, but then again, maybe Oklahoma isn't either.
