If Washington doesn't get the start my vote is for Granberry. He'd fit nicely in the starting lineup at the 3 spot.
I would argue that they are both 2 guards, just different types. Grabau's handles aren't where a point guard's should be, which is why I call him a 2. As far as assist/turnover ratio goes, though, he's a 1 all day.BeaverPoke said:WYO1016 said:Washington should definitely get the start. Grabau is a true point guard.
Takes care of the ball, and scores when needed. He is no Josh Adams who creates plays at the 2.

I like our chances at UNLV. Yes they have talent, but they lack in the coaching area (home losses to AFA and Nevada). My realistic prediction would be 1-2....but 2-1 could be achievable.TheRealUW said:Realistically, I don't think the Pokes win any of their next 3 games. All three teams they will be facing have far superior talent and two of the games are on the road. Keep in mind, we have struggled mightly against teams less talented than us on the road this year. Yes, we did beat BSU on the road. The team deserves credit for gutting out that win, but BSU played one of their worst games of the season that night. The Cowboys played a part in them performing poorly, but they were just having an off night as well.
Even though SDSU is easily the best team in the MWC this season, I think that is our best shot at picking up a win in the next three games...mainly because it is in the AA. If I had to put a percentage on liklihood to win each game, I would say:
15% @ UNM
20% @ UNLV
25% vs SDSU
That's one win in every four games played at the AA against SDSU. Is next Wednesday that one game? You never know!

UNLV got beat by Nevada and AFA at home and we beat both of those teams as well.
UNM lost to UNLV @ the Pit so we have just as much chance to win all 3 of these games coming up as anyone else does. I think if we play good Basketball we could go 3-0.
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying I think we will go 3-0 I'm just saying with good play we definitely could.

The transitive property has proven to fail time and time again when applied to sports.
Could we go 3-0? Sure. Hence the reason I didn't predict our chances of winning at 0%. The bottom line is that each of the teams we are facing in the next 3 games are better basketball teams than we are. You can use mental gymnastics all you want to convince yourself that we should (or will) win any number of the next 3 games. However, an objective assessment is going to tell a different story.
